Now this ticks me off:
"Huggins has some of his former standouts come in to teach his Mountaineers a few tricks.
Van Exel, who played 13 seasons in the NBA, has spoken a few times with WVU senior guard Darris Nichols.
Huggins said he plans to involve Van Exel, Patterson, Jason Maxiell and Corie Blount with helping the Mountaineers in some fashion.
"Corie Blount (who played 11 seasons in the NBA) has already spoken to the team," Huggins said. "Those guys will be in at some point or another."

It's been a fear of mine that our recent grads turn a cold shoulder to the program. Can't say I blame anything but the situation :<

As have you.
I guess if you don't graduate, you don't care about the institution that took a chance on you. Isn't Max the only graduate of the bunch.

One would think that a high percentage of UC fans were Huggins' guys. There are (of course) a small % who feel otherwise. They may prefer the Yates, Badger, and similar results.
Of those 4, yes. Blount is finishing his degree now. He and Van Exel took 10+ year detours to become millionaires in the NBA. Likewise Ruben Patterson. I'd call each of them successful regaless of degree or not.

I would say Ruben was successful in making money but not in life

The operative word there is "were." I loved Huggins but I love my alma mater more. He and his team are the enemy now. I respect but hate my team's enemies.
And, guess what, just because we no longer have affection for Huggy, does NOT mean we want mediocrity. You continue to imply that since Huggins is gone UC is going back to the Yates era and that anybody who disagrees with you wants that to happen. That is just not so.
You and the rest of "Huggins' Guys" can go ahead and continue to support him and his team, but please don't subject Cincinnati fans to your WVU cheer leading.
Not sure why you have such an issue with these guys, Jeff. Pretty simple... he recruited them, he coached them, turned them into NBA players, and they then made a lot of money thanks to the help he gave them while in college. Now they are paying him back by helping the guys he is coaching now, making them better players.
I'm sure any coach, whether at an old school or a new school, would do the same thing.
I personally don't say that they are committing any kind of heresy due to what they are doing. They are showing loyalty to their coach, who has stuck with them through thick and thin.

Many of his players recognize that Huggins got them to the NBA (or wherever), not UC.
Not cheerleading, just stating obvious facts that any reasonable fan should understand.

He doesn't - he hates Huggins. He doesn't understand why players and fans don't.

I wont be cheering for WVU, but I will be cheering for Huggins in every game but one this coming season. The fact that Huggs is now at WV is secondary to me. However, I wont be constantly commenting on this board about Huggs.

Pitino's ex-UK players are supportive of his Louisville program, not Kentucky.
Players are loyal to their coach(es), not the school they attended.

Exactly...I'll give him a standign "O" when HE is introduced and and even louder cheer when UC roughs up his team. I trully wish Huggs the best in everything he does (unless it's against the Cats), and I thank him for everythign he did for UC and us, the fans. While I hope former Bearcat players would still hold an alegiance to UC, it is ridiculous to blame them for supporting Bob Hugigns. Huggs is one of the most important people in many of his player's lives. You can't fault that loyalty and support. GO CATS...BEAT WVU EVERYTIME WE PLAY THEM!!!! And good luck Bob.

Okay so what is the big deal? Corrie Blount sat behind the UC bench for the Bowling Green game. All these guys are Bearcats forever.

UC's former players are helping an upcoming opponent get better so they can beat us (more easily). I'll shut up about it since most of you think it's not a big deal.

So former UC players are helping West VA players get better so they can beat UC while at the same time they are helping UC players get better so they can beat West VA , looks like it is going to be a tie game.

On the same note, Chuck Machock is helping UC players get better so they can beat W VA and his best buddy.

I take that Bill Walker, Michael Beasley, Jason Bennett, Luis Colon and Blake Young won't be visiting Huggs in Morgantown years from now.

If that's true then they should remove the schools name from the jerseys and replace it with the coaches. Coaches get fired all the time and the majority of players support the school they went to as well as the coach they played for. The University of Cincinnati should be bigger than a basketball coach or university president and maybe it's up to the fans and alumni to make sure that it is.

1) Huggs took a chance on them.
2) Nice, you cutting them down is a great thing. Peolpe go to college to get a job, they got the jobs they wanted from the experience.
This is what happens when you treat well-liked people poorly.

I do not hate Huggins, but I do recognize that he's not our coach anymore. Just as you point out that these former players should show allegiance to Huggs, I think I'll show my allegiance to the school my father and I both graduated from.
Coachs come and go. He's gone. Deal with it. I didn't fire him, Nancy didn't fire him. He fired himself. (Nancy just totally screwed the team.)
