Anybody have a name for this "under the radar" center we are supposedly after? I'd like to look him up and follow his recruitment.

Krys Faber of Los Angeles may be the name.

He is a horrible FT shooter. He shoots 32% according to rivals. This kid is from the west coast. The "Cats are supposedly pursuing a mid-west kid.

Wouldn't you say everyone they'd be after at this stage would be under the radar since most of the top players are committed elsewhere? So it could be ANYBODY at this point

None at all, there will be no additional big man signed by Mick for next season.

Seems like a lot of schools are on his interest list, but only Maryland has offered. That could mean we could get him by offering! Or...it could mean he is not worth the offer :(

His AAU team has done well, but there are no stats listed for him after the first game in April. Was he injured? Is he considered an 08 or 09 recruit?

16 yo 6'8" - he may not be done growing yet!

Scout has Fitzgerald listed as an '09 recruit. I think it would be a mistake to not add a low post guy, but on the other hand I wouldn't want to throw a scholly away on someone that can't play BEast basketball either. I would have loved to get Dwight Miller but Pitt landed him. We will have to make due with McClain, Belton, Gates and Williams I suppose. Still every year there are late blooming late signees that end up being very productive players. I still think Mick will try to land at least one more player and it will be low post or a shooter.

Don't forget players out of the country. 20% of the current top 20 centers (Rivals) are from other countries.
Does anybody know what kind of structure or system there is for finding and recruiting foreign players?

I like Denarius Robinson. I think he would be a good fit here.

UC has contacted Faber per his HS coach.

Clipped from free info on GopherHole (Minnesota fan website) below.

"We will see who signed and see the best fit is. So many schools have come to the table, you have to look at it. It is a long list of school interest in him. My phone has been blowing up just to make sure that he did not sign. The Big East is heavy. Half the Big East schools have called me like Cincinnati and Marquette. It is not just a basketball decision. We are looking at everything like academics."

Well at 6'11", 246 lbs. you have to look at him. Danarius Robinson is listed at 210 lbs. so he would need to bulk up to bang down low. Hopefully his FT shooting is a mechanics problem and he can be taught. Long way to go to see if we can land him based on what is said in this article. I'll follow this with some interest over the next few months.

Out of all the names being mentioned, anyone care to comment on who would be the best fit and who has the most mutual interest?
