From this week's Forde-Yard Dash:
Point After
When hungry in Cincinnati, The Dash recommends a slice of LaRosa's Pizza (40). The local favorite can be found about everywhere, and Cincinnatians will rhapsodize about the sauce. You won't find a leafy idyllic look on campus at the University of Cincinnati, but The Dash is impressed by the modernization efforts around the school's very cool, middle-of-campus football facility, Nippert Stadium.

Right on... LaRosa's pizza -- not that good. I love what they do for the community, but their pizza is second rate, at best.

I'd go to Skyline for a 3-Way and a Cheese Coney, then Graeter's for dessert (if I were hungry in Cincy).

LaRosa's is the best. I grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and for a couple of years lived down the street from the LaRosa clan. Once you taste LaRosa's all other pizza is second best. Too bad UC switched to Donato's but money talks.

Graeter's? You ever been to Aglamesis?
For soft serve Zip Dip or Putz's? The Cone in Westchester is far behind these two.

Yes. And yes. I prefer G to A.

Oh, I've tasted it. Crap crap crap. Agree with 58. Skyline it is. I live in NY/NJ, where real pizza lives...

Yep - agree! NYC (area) pizza is the best anywhere. Even better than Chicago style pizza.
I'm not a fan of LaRosa's myself. I was not upset with the change to Donatos. Personally, I think the best thin crust pizzas are up in Dayton at Marion's.
When in Cincy I'm always happy with some Camp Washington. In Dayton I can get Skyline, Graetors, and LaRosa's now anyway.
I'm Cincy born and raised and have always felt that LaRosas is a good dough recipe away from being a good pizza. But unless they figure out how to make a crust, they're 3rd rate. Until Buddy learns to make dough I'll stick with Pomi's, Dewey's and Adriatico's.

The pizza isn't the point. You can get pizza anywhere. The part that should matter is his comment about Nippert Stadium and campus. Nippert is part of our identity, and after all the changes on campus, I'm always interested in others' impressions. It's disappointing to me that after all we've done to create green space, visitors usually don't see any green, which makes me wonder how far they wander from the stadium. But they always like Nippert.

It appears that the majority of people here hate LaRosa's. Too bad the vast majority of the city disagrees with you.
Donatos, Adriaticos, Macs, Dominos, etc...they don't hold a candle to LaRosa's.

You people in Cincy don't realize how blessed you are. Here in St. Louis they put ketchup on a cracker with some weird cheese and call it pizza. Skyline, Graeters - nothing even close here. And one not mentioned is Izzy's. I can't find a decent corned beef here. Nobody even offers a potato pancake.
Now we do have the Slinger. Cheeseburger patties, hash browns and eggs; all covered with their lousy chili and topped with cheese and onions. Needless to say, this is very popular around 3AM.

Get in your car and drive over to Belleville in Illinois.
The Farmhouse for dinner and Our Lady Of The Snows for lunch.

Or maybe people in Cincinnati just don't know pizza ;)

That's Provel Cheese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provel_cheese), never had it, heard it's pretty lousy, as is St. Louis pizza.
You also have the St. Paul Sandwich (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Paul_sandwich) which sounds pretty weird.

I have to agree that LaRosa's (that means ThePink's in Italian) is class pizza, Greaters rules too... But i still like Flubbs better.
Not that any of you guys care, but here in Italy the pizza is real good. The best place in Torino is definitely D'amici miei.

The 3 Cincinnati staples in my mind are:
Skyline Chili
Montgomery Inn Ribs
Graeter's Ice Cream

^^^And all three can be found better incarnated in smaller, non-chain settings...'cept maybe Graeters...:)
