That would be a tough break for Marquette, considering they only lost Crean 3 years ago.

how is this a step up? $$? Money. Big state school with football revenue. Still a big 6 conference. Some good recruits too if he can keep them.

Lateral move. Ask Crean about it.

I don't see how a coach at a major program like Arkansas could be allowed to wear a suit as hideous as Pelfrey's. He looks like he has Hammer pants on.
Williams is a good coach, SEC's a much more winnable conference, and he's a southern guy. Makes sense.

Mick Cronin's name has been brought up as a replacement on the Arkansas board.

One of these days the power 6 folks are going to let an entire recruiting class go through before picking off these coaches. See Stan Heath, Keno Davis

The word is it's Anderson's job if he wants it.

It should be. He has the results but wIll he hold the Ark firing of Nolan against them?

It should be. He has the results but wIll he hold the Ark firing of Nolan against them?I think Nolan might bless it. The issue seems to be contract length. Anderson wants it to be his last job and wants a very long term deal.
They have a Micky Ds from St Louis coming next year (Young) and I'm sure Anderson also recruited him.

Has Anderson commented on this yet? This could be a great distraction for their game Thursday.:D

Im answering my own question. Not exactly a firm "No".
“It seems like this is a road we go down every single year. I’ve already stated, I’m a Missouri Tiger and we’re looking forward to the NCAA Tournament. To me, that continues to confirm that we have a tremendous program here. We do it the right way, we have an opportunity to play on Selection Sunday, or participate in it. Again, it’s something that we seem like we visit every year. It just validates, again, what we’re doing here at the University of Missouri and I’m excited about what’s taking place here.”

Katz and he who disparages the BEast at any possible opportunity, were talking last week about the amount of money in Arkansas between Tyson's Chicken and Walmart and their desire to win big in basketball unlike some other SEC schools (Alabama, LSU, USC). Anyhow they can definitely lure who they would like.
The funnier part of the conversation is despite the amount of money their boosters may have their message board fans seem really dense. Beyond the fact that Mick is not leaving ever (period). They also seem to have no recolection of his situation coming in or his time at Murray St.
Now I don't expect people to stalk the program but either you are a basketball fan and know this stuff or you should pretend to be one and Google it.
As for Gillispie if you can't win at UK then why do they think another SEC school would be a good fit. If they want someone fully established Turgeon or Anderson seems to fit.

I've heard that Gillespie will be the new coach at Texas Tech.

That would be his area of recruiting expertise.

The SEC West is a mess. Lots easier to hang a banner in the SEC than the BE.

It should be. He has the results but wIll he hold the Ark firing of Nolan against them?As it turns out he may not hold the Richardson firing against them but he might hold the fact that they didn't seriously consider him to replace Nolan against them.
“When Mike left he was pretty upset and I don’t blame him,” Richardson said. “He was a competitor. He felt like he spent his time at Arkansas and deserved at least a 15-minute visit. ... So those things are there.”

There will probably be an opening at Tennessee here in the next few days. Getting pounded by 30 with 3 minutes left. Might want to wait on that one that's a high paying gig.

As predicted, it's Anderson at Ark.
