I was happy to see how much improvement there was from the Peggy Cronin games to the Coastal game. I am hoping that we will see the same improvement if not more from the CC game to the Fairfield game. I am hoping to see more of Wilks, Biggie, Mitchell, and Belton. Hopefully Wilks is a quick learner and can make the same type of impact that Rashad has. Rashad has definitely been my favorite freshman so far. Mitchell has not found his shot yet but did really well in other areas such as rebounding and hustle. Are we going to get close to another 20 point win? 30 point win? I am excited to see what product we will see on the floor tomorrow. Does anyone know if Biggie is ok with his foot problem? Let me know your thoughts.
GO CATS!!

20 point W seems possible.

I don't care, as long as they show improvement in the fundamentals.

I was at the game. Wilks improved. No one else really did.

I disagree. I saw a lot of improvement in terms of team play and ball handling. Turnovers still kill us, as does slot selection, but those aspects are also improving. The biggest continuous improvement I'm seeing is the willingness to pass the ball, to keep it moving from one player to the next. If the team continues to improve in that regard, we can do fairly decently in Big East play even without putting a whole lot of points on the board. But again, that's predicated on continuous improvement; the Cats can't hit a snag and not recover.

At halftime, I chatted with a couple of AAU coaches. Both had been to other Bearcat games this year (I hadn't). Except for Wilks, neither saw much better today from the Bearcats.

I've not seen any games yet so help me out.
1. Davis appears to be one of the best shooters on the team. Why is he playing so little? Does his defense suck? Is his knee hurting?
2. Wilks looked better? He scored a few points, but 1 rebound (his first of the year)?
3. Could Alvin be a stiff?
4. Adam H gets a lot of bad comments on here, but he looks like he's performing "okay" considering the expectations. I don't think he was ever thought of as a BEAST center, but Mick had so few options for big men.
5. Our best rebounder is getting fewer minutes per game?

Well I've coached for a long time as well and I disagree. Is there across the board improvement? No. Did I see some things being done better...yes.

I don't know you. I know both of them. I trust their judgement. Sorry.

Don't know why Davis played so little. Gentry played a lot more.
Wilks looked much better. Even MC said that in his postgame comments.
Alvin Mitchell is just a freshman, not a stiff.
Adam H will get overwhelmed in December OOC and BEast schedule. He's a good back-up for 10 or 15 minutes a game.
UC rebounded poorly yesterday.
