Committed per Scout. Assuming this is the committ Bearcatlair is referring to as well.
Yet another recruit with a light offer list. I trust the staff but it seems odd considering the higher end recruits we are getting on campus.

He was getting notice from big name schools. Probably was a plan B for some, but he is a very solid player, and much needed defensively.

Yet another recruit with a light offer list.
Will these kids (with light offer sheets) pick up other offers, or do schools back off after a solid verbal is given to a school?

I'm sure that they will for the most part pick up more offers especially if they go to camps this summer.
And actually I retract my statement, the more I read about this kid the more convinced I am that he is a very solid pickup.

Kid can play, I don't what offers he has.

This was mentioned on the front page of the paper here in Troy yesterday, and was then on the front page of the sports section with a large headline and a multi-page article. Regardless of whether he is the caliber some think we need, it resulted in some high profile press up here.
I cannot remember O$U committs getting a bigger headline up here, so it was nice to see UC FB mentioned in big bold headlines.

Might have to pick up a copy just for that article...

Mick Cronin once said he has to spend more time and energy continuing to a recruit a kid who verbally committed to UC than it took to get the kid to verbal.
So I think the answer to your question is a resounding yes. For a school like Ohio State, if they don't get their primary target, they'll go to their backup plan even if that kid has a verbal committments to another school, thinking that the power of the name Ohio State can lure many to change their minds. And in many cases it does work.
