Fortson is listed as a 2007 recruit. Anybody know if he is a high schooler or a prep player as some recruiting services are listing him as an '08 recruit. He had a great tournament in Fayetteville and would seem to be a great fit for Mick along with McClain; if we can get Crowell and Warren to move off their scholarships. What ya think?

i believe he is reclassifying to 2008.

Bearcatfaithful is correct, Fortson will be reclassifying to 2008 as there was a question as to his being able to qualify for 2007 and wanting an extra year to generate interest from some bigger schools.

I don't think Courtney and Danny are related simply because its not been mentioned in any article I've seen and thats something writers would do, if true.

Danny was from the Pittsburgh area while Courtney is from Alabama.

Mike, I noticed in the listing you guys have for C. Fortson you have him at 5' 11", the squib from the Birmingham News states he is 5' 9", and one of the recruiting sites you list has him at 6' 2". Does anyone know how tall he actually is, or is this another one of those kids who we won't know his exact height until he uses up his 4 years of college eligibility?

He's under 6 feet tall, 5'10" is probably the closest, which is one of the reasons he isn't being looked at by elite schools but other schools love his tenacity on both ends of the floor.

And I changed the listing from 6-0 to 5-11 today because of the article. I've never met him or stood near him, so I cant say for sure, but I like to be conservative in my listings. That way, if they show up on campus and inch or two taller than I have them listed, I'm not disappointed like I would be if it happened the other way around.

Since todays quote was from his coach, he is likely closer to 5-9 than 6-0.

Having stood next to Downey many times, I would put him at 5-8.
