Thanks for the memories. Those were the days. Makes you wonder what could have been had Kenyon not broke his leg in the CUSA Tournament.

By the way, when was the last time you saw Huggins wearing a suit (other than a track suit and that yellow thing a few years back of course).

Favorite Kenyon Game of all time.. I have it recorded on VHS (yeah I said it, VHS) and occasionally break it out at parties and get togethers whenever the 90's Bearcats get mentioned. My dog, a great dane is named Kenyon in honor of #4! The next dog will be named Logan...or perhaps Killa! :)

Awesome, this is one of those games where you will always remember where you were. I was living in Nashville, home watching this game going crazy. Unfortunately got to watch them lose to Tulsa in Nashville after Kenyon went down. Great memory. Cool seeing Mick on the sideline as well.

Best UC player Ever!in my opinion.

Other than Oscar, of course - that comparison isn't even remotely close

Blake Griffin has said numerous times he modeled his game after KMart.

I was about to say that from the interview they did with him when they asked him why he dunked and played so hard.

Doesn't make you wonder, it's easy to see.

Kenyon would have willed that team to a championship.

Agreed! My buddy is a diehard UK fan and even he said that he believes UC would have won the National Championship that season. They had so much talent and the best player in the game at the time.

Blake in college or now? That guy makes freak athletes in the NBA look like they can't jump.

There are many similarities in style, although Blake is bigger. KMart was faster when he was with the Nets. The transistion game with Kidd and Jefferson was a thing of beauty. I hope Kenyon gets another shot at a championship before his playing days are over.

I was at the DePaul game taking a lot of abuse until the run started. Watching him take over the game at both ends of the floor was one the most amazing things I have ever witnessed in sports. Vitale mentions if but the Rosemont Horizon was so quiet you could hear someone whisper.

I understand that this is the valid point about "shoulda have..." or "coulda have..." won the NCAA champ if Kmart had not a broken bone. Exactly unlike Mick who has said UC could have won the champ last year after UC played against UConn. Anyway..... that would be a good match up between both if they played on the same year.

College, I would assume. In the pros, Griffin's 1st year stats are way better than any year Kenyon had - more than 12 boards/game? 22.5 pts. /game?

Kenyon was an awesome college player...a good solid NBA player, but nothing all that special. Griffin is already a star and will only improve.

my thoughts as well - didn't want to get everyone all upset, though.

I agree that Griffin's nba career will be better. I wonder if Kenyon never had the knee issues what might have been.

I don't watch enough NBA nowadays, how's Blake's defense? because in the NBA, Kenyon was a special defensive player when healthy.

So you're saying we couldn't have beaten San Diego State, Arizona, UK, or Butler had we beat UCONN? Sorry man I gotta agree with Mick on what he said that UCONN was the toughest team we would have had to play if we got past them. UCONN proved that by winning the National Championship by 12 whereas we lost to them by 9.

UConn was also consistent enough at that point to win several games in a row against good teams. Projecting how UC would have done after that (if they had beaten UConn) is a guess, at best.
