I am trying to figure out if I am right here.
The NCAA allows each Division 1 Men's Basketball program 13 Scholarships
I think that UC will be back at full scholorship limits then.
That means that the roster will be:
Mike Williams (SR)
Deonta Vaughn (JR)
Kenny Belton (SO - Signed for next year)
Rashad Bishop (SO - Signed for next year)
Larry Davis (SO - Signed for next year)
Jason Henry (SO - unsigned for next year) (hopefully tomorrow)
Alvin Mitchell (SO - unsigned for next year) (hopefully tomorrow)
That =s 7
Hopefully we can have one more in the form of a C in McClain and Henry's grades are good.
That =s 8
That leaves 5 for 2008. One is taken by Wilks.
That leaves 5 for 2009. ONe is taken by McElroy.
This should help out.

We would only have one scholly for '09 as Deonta Vaughn would be the only SR. leaving that year.

Kindog - that is correct if you don't include:
Kenny Belton
Rashad Bishop
Larry Davis
Jason Henry
Alvin Mitchell
Darnell Wilks

King is right and as for the information I posted earlier on the academic situations that got rementioned on the BBS board no I'm not oleskl. Didn't meant to put people in such a panic but that doesn't mean the information isn't accurate.

My reply to this question is always the following -
"They have 13 scholarships to give"
Because you can never be sure from year to year who is staying and who is going.
There are a hundred changes that could occur between now and the fall of '09 to accurately predict the 2009-10 season.

If both Henry and Mitchell sign LOI's on Wednesday UC has 13 scholarship players, so if McClain wants to come who goes?

I agree Mike, I tend to look at it based on the seniors that we have for that year. The way Shaun had it broken down was misleading b/c assuming that only the seniors leave each year, w/this years class plus Mitchell, Henry and McClain (crossing fingers), that would leave 5 schollys available for next year. If Mick fills those five w/the class of '08, Williams is the only SR on that team, thus leaving the one scholly to be filled (right now) by McElroy.

Past rumors had Timmy Crowell going on academic scholorship.
Kindog - I see what you and Mike are saying I was just trying to get a grasp of where we sit. We all no all to well - unfortunatly - that players can either leave for the pros, bring a gun on campus or transfer out.

Maybe I'm way off on the thinking, but maybe b/c there has been no announcement on who would give up the scholly, that Mick knows Henry will not qualify, thus freeing up the scholly this year for McClain. Question for those in the know... Is a school allowed to give say 14 schollys and then decide who gives up the additional scholly at a later date (i.e.), is there a "cutdown" day for schollys in college b-ball?

Kindog - in football they can, but I don't know about basketball.
For example:
Florida gave out 28 scholorships last year. Mississippi State gave out 34. Tennessee 32 and South Carolina 31. All more than they are allowed to give out and more than they had room for.
