A while back there was a rumor floating around that the coaching staff was not confident about Mike being rewarded another year and that he may be able to play some late in the season. If it is indeed true that an extra is unlikely, I sure would like to see the big man get some minutes in preperation for next season. Can anyone offer an update on this?

There was a interview on mike and his progress a few weeks back. They said hes making tremendous progress from what they expected. From what i gathered, the coaches seemed pretty confident in him getting a 6th year. Anyone else have the latest info?

I don't have any info (late or otherwise) but I'd be surprised at a 6th year because he transferred from Tex to UC. Rarely do transfers get a 6th.

Mike Williams will NOT, I repeat, NOT play this season no matter how well his rehab is going. Mick is very optimistic that Williams will get a 6th year.

It's sad they would then ultimately hold an injury against him, transfer or not - the year-off is enough I think (and necessary).

Raplh always says the opposite of BFS1958 It's pretty humorous.
I actually find it funny that there is anything to be "optimistic" about, it's not like there is a rhyme or reason when they make their judgements.

Right or wrong, good or bad, the transfer year often makes a difference.

I agree BCF but it does seem that Mike and Mick think he will get a 6th year.

I remember MC thinking Hall would play last year alongside Adam H (last year).
I don't know what will happen. But I do know what has happened. Transfers rarely get a 6th year.

Mike doesnt want to play this year, so as far as playing this year it doesnt matter how his rehab is progressing. He is going to take his chances with the NCAA (even though he actually sued them before his freshman year already).

Mick stated last Thursday on his weekly radio show from Montgomery Inn that Williams would not play this year. If you listened to his show you would know these things.

Be nice......
I listen to Lance, but I can't listen every day, or every minute. Some people have crazy schedules, or worse, kids.

I feel ya...I hadn't heard that update either. Rarely do I have a Thursday night free to tune in, and if he mentioned it on Sunday's TV show, it hasn't made it off of my DVR "to watch" list.

There's no reason for Mike to come back now. The season is over. Time to get ready for next year and start seasoning the young'uns.

I'm dying to see Mike on the floor. Why is it that us fans in Cincinnati are always thinking about next year, instead of the present?

That is why there are big fences around cemetaries, people are dying to get in.

Haha, I disagree with 58' most of the time and I think Ralph just makes stuff up to stir things up, I seriously think he would take a mass murderer if rivals had that guy in the top 40. Having said that I think BCF is a great and informative read. Ralph is entertaining and fun to disagree with.
How huge would Mike getting a 6th year for this program.
