From ESPN:
Division I board to consider text message ban (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2841603&campaign=rss&source=NCBHeadlines)
I think limiting text messaging makes sense. Some high profile recruits have to deal with hundreds of text messages a day (unless they have unlimited text messaging on their phones, one can only imagine how high their bills are).
It is clear to me that coaches were using text messaging as a loop hole around the recruit contact rules.
