Did anyone catch/DVR this last night? I'm watching it now... what a contrast. Not one player on this years team would start on the '98 team.

Starting lineup:

Pete Mickael
Melvin Levet
Steve Logan
Kenyon Martin
Ryan Fletcher

I had forgotten what a really nice player Fletch turned into, and just how physical those guys were. Pete Mickael was very smooth around the rim... no missed layups. The rest speak for themselves.

I'm positive Vaughn would get the nod.

Me too, Vaughn gets the nod over Logan (or even Levett).

If anyone has this unbelievable game on tape, dvd, or on their computer and wouldn't mind sharing it, I would like to have a copy of it.

What channel was that on? I've been looking for a tape of that for awhile. I never cheered any louder during a basketball game that was still on after midnight. Fletch..to Kenyon...to the helicopter...bye bye duke. :D

WHAT AN ALL-TIME GREAT BEARCAT GREAT MOMENT!!!!!!!!!!!
What a line up. You could 've put those guys anywhere on the floor and they would've won.
Never forgotten!!!!!!!

The game was on ESPN Classic, and it was edited down to a 1 hour version.

How many of you remember that William Avery put up 30 for Duke that night! ...and he hit a tieing basket with 1 second to go..... wait, make that 0 seconds to go.

Vaughn might get the nod over Sophomore Logan, but not JR and Sr year Logan. The dude was first team All American, and almost unstoppable. Unbelievable ability to drive to the hoop, draw contact (and the foul), and still get the shot up.

I have a lot of Bearcat Hoops memories, and despite not including a large rowdy group and lots of alcohol, this is one of my favorites.
I listened to it on the radio while sick in bed with the flu. By the end, I was standing on my bed cheering in the dark.

Dan Shulman and Len Elmore did that game... so when I saw them at the start of the telecast last night, I thought we would have a good chance to beat Pitt

Dan Shulman is the best play-by-play man there is

I still have the tape of the UC-Duke game and I can tell you every single play from the entire game

Pete Mickeal drives the left side of the lane, gives a quick ball fake to the right which freezes Brand, and he goes in for the dunk.

That was the best play of the game, besides the home run play of course.

Sounds alot like Deonta Vaughn to me.

If the game was on tv, it would have been nice for someone to start a thread about that. That game is classic.

It's where Vaughn is headed anyway... I really hope he gets to that level before he graduates.

I have the Duke game on tape and the entire 92 tourney run. I have a video editing shop around the corner from me which I've been meaning to check out for years for prices and transferring VHS to DVD. If it's cost effective I'll get them all transferred and let everyone know.

Also someone on here was nice enough to send me a DVD transfer of the UC vs Minn game that opened the Shoe on DVD. Let me know if you're interested via the Private Message function. It was free to me , so it's free to you.
