WVU 73
Duke 67

Your psychic vibrations must be failing! Are you rooting for XU in the next round?

I would like to extend a heart-felt congrats to our former coach and his fine team. I hope they win the National Championship this season.

Ditto. I'm happy for Coach Huggins - I know, I know, he's not our coach anymore - but I'm still a fan of his and he will forever be a positive part of UC's basketball history and I'm happy to see him and his team going to the Sweet 16. His team's win over Duke today brought back memories of the Great Alaskan Shootout win over Mike K. back in '98 (I think).

In additional to this post, Coach Huggins has been 2-0 vs. Coach K. UC will always be my #1 team to root for before Huggins, but I am going to root for him when his team plays against any teams except UC. Let's beat Xavier!

Of note - Huggins has finally beaten a higher seeded team.

Kudos to Huggins.

Too bad Frank Martin didn't fare too well today.

Go Cats!

also - go U of L, Nova, and G-town!

said Al Uhrig, UC ’76. “I’ve been rooting against West Virginia all year,’’ he said. “I got tired of (Huggins’) act. He’s the one who got fired and put UC basketball in the situation it’s in. Seems to me he wants to do everything he can to stick it to UC. They should have fired him immediately after the DUI.’’

Uhrig says he will be rooting for Xavier “for the first time in my life.’’ And maybe the last. “I’ll root for UCLA (or Western Kentucky in the Elite Eight game) if Xavier beats Huggins. Put it this way: When (Xavier) loses, I’m not unhappy.’’

I think it is safe to say that Mr. Uhrig holds a relatively childish attitude towards our former coach.

It's astounding that someone in such a responsible position maintains such a consistently immature position with regards to coach Huggins.

Wasn't Al one of the many that suggested that we all "move on"?
