Conley and Cook have not hired agents (or signed paperwork with Conley's dad).

They will still have a good team next year, but nothing like it was this year. I expect Conley to not go and Cook to come back as he was horrible at the end of the year this year.

It really opens up some scholorships for them. They already are going to have the #1 recruiting class (expecting that from Scout) in the country in 2008 with the number 7, 11, 12, 18 and 87th players in the country going there. I imagine that they will pick up another one or two now.

Those cowards will never schedule UC again. They saw the foundation begin to crumble down here and thought now would be a good time to play us again. Now that Mick has the shipped righted (or darn close) you'll never hear from OSU again.

Would you schedule UC if you were Ohio State right now? You have been outrecruitinig UC and you don't want to do anything to lose the upperhand. I would love to see the games, but I agree that they will not want to schedule the game until UC starts getting better tallent than they are.

UC was getting better talent than they were for years so I wouldn't count on that. Bottom line is that OSU can position themselves as the premeir school in Ohio and there is only one school that can get in the way. As long as Matta keeps recruiting like he is I doubt they will schedule us very often if ever. Even if we turn that around and get back to being the best school in Ohio they will want to separate from us. If UC stopped playing Xavier I think that program would start to go down hill slowly. But we don't because we are confident we will prevail in national rankings, recruiting, and fan support.

UC could steal fan support from OSU if we started beating the pants off them. We could steal recruits as well. It really does them no good to play us other than "having the courage" to do so. They play us in football because they don't feel threatened and there is little risk and there never really has been. Basketball is another story. It makes OSU look like they are scared little puppies which they probably are and have been since we beat them in the NCAA finals two years in a row back in the 60's.

By the way, I went to OSU my freshman year.

Have any of you seen OSU's 2007 and 2008 recruiting classes? Obviously you haven't. I wouldn't get too excited about wanting to play them just yet. OSU will be loaded the next 3-4 years with the recruits Matta has in place. Their recruiting is much higher ranked than UC's. You people are bustin a nut over UC's recruits, I can't imagine what you'd be doing is we had OSU's recruits which includes 3 Top 100 players for 2007 (including the #14 player) and 4 Top 25 playes for 2008. Has UC ever had 4 Top 25 players.

And I'm not an OSU fan....in fact I'm an OSU hater. But no way do I think it's an automatic win to beat them just because Oden, Conley, and Cook may be gone.

I agree with your point Nacho. We have a long way to go as far as getting up in the top tier of recruiting programs. This is a big step forward considering the constraints placed on Mick. This shows me that we have a chance to recruit with the best of them given the chance.

This was a top 15-25 class (with McClain) depending on who you ask mostly because of the amount of players in the class. Next year I would certainly hope to be in the top 10 since we have another 5 scholarships to give and Mick has had more time with the 08' recruits.

If we want to be a top 10 program we either have to have top 10 recruits or a coach who can turn top 25 recruiting classes into top 10 teams. This class is nothing to drool over but certainly something to get excited about. Many of these people are still high on the Gates committment and maybe looking at the whole picture rather than just this year's class.

Recruiting shouldn't matter. It's an Ohio thing and the two biggest dogs in the state should be required to play each other every year. UK/UofL is a madhouse and a national TV event. Three years from now we could have that same atmosphere here in Ohio.
