Great for Yancy, It is nice to see him get some recognition that is much deserved. You know that somebody is good when everyone has an opinion. People say he is a freak others say he is lazy, but very few dont have an opinion. That tells me something.

Many familiar names on these AA teams that were recruited by MC. Can't win 'em all but give him little more time to develop relationships with these kids as freshmen and sophomores.

Why the give me Boynton remark? Are we still in the running for him? I recognized the name as someone who had medium to high interest in UC.

Yates outplayed Mullens something fierce head to head! This is partially a popularity contest.

So many of these players get ranked in the top 10 as freshmen and sophomores and stay there no matter what.

Many of the second, third and fourth teamers have or will surpass the first teamers in productivity.

Ohio State has 3 of these guys...4 if you count Pryor.

Even in the NFL, the rankings are just an educated guess. Where was Akili Smith ranked? David Verser? Big Daddy? And, there are numerous guys who turn out to be all pros who were free agents. And, consider the amount of time, money, combines, workout days...and they still get it wrong a lot of the time. Why should we think that these high school kids can be ranked with any degree of accuracy. It give people like us something to argue about, but, that's about it.

About the only rankings that make any sense are to rank a kid Excellent, Great, or Good. Even that would be subjective. Oh well, the only ranking that matters is "yes" which is the answer to the question, does Mick want this kid?

watching memphis play, will Gates be like the Dozer(sp) guy? I get the feeling he has more offense than him, but less defense than him.

I'd still take Yancy over Mullens and Samuels. I saw the Withrow/Canal Winchester game and Yancy looked like the better player when they played. I've also read that this past summer Yancy played Samuels in an AAU game and looked like a much better player. He may not have played every game 100%, but Yancy was named the Division I player of the year in Ohio. It looks to me like Yancy has the greatest upside of a lot of the big men in the country and he has a great shot to leave UC like some of the greats who have come here.

Yancy is physically more developed than Dozier. Think Joey Dorsy body (now) not on Joey's level defensively (yet) but light years ahead of Joey (now) offensively.
