Also, Bobby Maze committed there...I remember that Mick recruited him when he was first hired as coach.

Shooting guard Tyree Evans has been granted a release from the letter of intent he signed with Maryland, the Baltimore Sun reports. Evans made his decision after numerous media reports about his troubled past came out recently. The Richmond, Va. native has been charged with multiple crimes over the past four years, including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute for which he served jail time.
Motlow State C.C. head coach Bobby Steinburg said all the negative press made Evans decide that Maryland was not the best fit for him. "Hearing about all that stuff and people started telling him, it was just constantly a struggle," Steinburg said. "It seemed like every day it was something new. He and I just talked about it two days ago and said, 'Let's go ahead and opt out.' It's not like he's going to have trouble finding another place."

He might end up at Kent State:

Even if Kent State was inclined to take a chance on Evans, it may not be able to fit him onto the roster. The Flashes do not have a scholarship available at the moment. Kentucky, Mississippi State and Texas Tech are also rumored to be interested in Evans should Maryland choose not to admit him. Evans previously chose to sign with Maryland over offers from Arizona, Florida State and Kansas State.
