I assume this is ok because it's on the correct message board.

"I worked for him a year at Cincinnati. That second year, even though he wasn't the head coach Andy Kennedy and I stayed in daily contact with him. I can tell you that the one frustrating thing in his life, professionally, was that in 2002 he could not take that West Virginia job. That really bothered him. When we came here, I knew the only school that could get his interest was West Virginia. When I heard that Beilein had took the Michigan job, I thought it would be open and shut. But then his ties had become so strong that he could not say no to Dr. Wefald.

"He looked worse that morning when he told me he was taking the West Virginia job than he did the morning he told us he was going to resign at Cincinnati."

Sounds like more Bob Huggins PR con job than anything else. Yes, he could not take the WVU job in 2002 because the President of WVU turned him down. As reported by CBS Sports and the Kansas City Star, Huggins called Arkansas as soon as he heard Stan Heath was fired to try and get that job.

He couldn't take that job because of all the stuff they were hiding.

Simply incorrect. WVU had lots of Gale Catlett baggage in 2002. Dan Dakich quit after a few days because of it.

Why don't you go to the Kansas State message board and see? I don't think we want to go into this very much here.

I appreciate all that he did for UC in recent years. Hope he does well at K-St.

It's an honor that UC has produced coaches like Mick Cronin, Andy Kennedy, and Frank Martin from the staff in recent years.
