Arkansas fired Stan Heath (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2813245&campaign=rss&source=NCBHeadlines).

I wonder how much prestige the Arkansas job holds nowadays? The Razorbacks have fallen off quite a bit since Nolan Richardson got the old heave ho.

So Keith - I see an "Edit" button on the bottom of your post above.
Since I am an administrator, I guess I can edit the posts of others - correct?

Mike,

I have not tried this but it looks that way. As admins, I guess we are allowed to do just about anything.

The Administrators should be able to edit the posts from what I understand.

Also, Billy Gelespi from Texas A&M is rumored to have already agreed in principle to take the Razorback job.

I heard that South Florida might be interested in Heath. Might not be a bad move. He might have been destined for disaster and if he can turn it around and get back to his Kent State form, USF could have a good coach finally.

According to Fox Sports (http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/6635450?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=99), Creighton's current (now former) head coach is set to be introduced as the new Arkansas coach today.

I think Stan Heath would be a good hire for South Florida. Perhaps Stan is one of those coaches who can do more with less but is not so good at leading a top flight program like Arkansas (see Matt Daugherty as another example of this).

Prediction -

John Beilein takes the Michigan job and Bob Huggins is offered, but declines, the West Virginia job.

Just a guess.

ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2822896&campaign=rss&source=NCBHeadlines) is reporting that Stan Heath is taking the South Florida job.

Fox Sports (http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/6636638?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=99) is reporting that Beilein is close to a deal to move from WVU to Michigan.

Beilein gonel...the Huggins talk will get going. Even if it is not accurate.

Is the Michigan job better than the WVU job?

I think from a pure monitary standpoint, Michigan is higher on the pecking order. With regards to conference strength, I think the Big East is better overall. With regards to school prestige (including academics), I think Michigan has the edge.

Apparently, Altman got cold feet (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2824653) and returned to Creighton. Arkansas is now back on the clock.

Please see my post in the "feedback forum" about an "OT" forum... this thread is a perfect example. Not that it's a huge deal now... but later it might be.

I'm not sure how I would rule on this one. Since the forum is labeled "Basketball" - I could see how this post fits in but I wouldn't feel the same if it were the same old Huggins talk we have seen so much of. So .. yes, I agree this probably belongs under "General" .. I guess.

Any other opinions?

it wasn't a big deal... just an observation... and in the future an OT forum would be cool... again for stuff like the Reds or Bengals... or anything else.

kind of a "catch all" just in case.

I agree this particular thread DOES have to do with BBall... but he still felt the need to write "OT" on it.

By the way... like my picture of "Don" for my avatar ;)

I think there needs to be an allowance for some OT stuff if it is the same sport. I could argue at least indirect consequences to UC basketball of every post in this thread.

What I would recommend is making a sticky thread at some point regarding the Nancy and bob thing. I am sure it will start on its own and we can send those discussions "over there".

We always used to have OT stuff but the Bob/Nancy crap has a cut a hole in it and that is a shame.

According to Fox Sports, Billy Donovan is staying at Florida (http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/6644302?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=99).

I guess the good news is we don't have to worry about our coach going anywhere.

So - does this put UK back on the clock as well?

By the way, not to necessarily disagree with Jon or anyone else, but isn't the basketball forum supposed to be about UC basketball (men's or women's)? Probably needs to be an "OT" on a different "forum".

This post was started to test the boards.....it probably should be moved now, but it was more of a test post that got going.

I'll be honest...I am wrestling with where threads like this one belong. I find it interesting to discuss general basketball topics like this with fellow forum members. And I think future OT threads like this are good. I agree that it does not really fit well inside the Basketball forum. Perhaps another forum (like Basketball News) to discuss college basketball not related to UC is in order?
