Colt Ryan from Batesville like a 6` 5` shooting guard can shoot lights out from the outside, good size for a guard and only a soph right now, plays AAU for Indiana Elite 16U team. heres the link. purdue.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=66628&sport=2

As of right now... UC only has 1 scholarship available for 2009 and it has already been given to Danny McElroy. UC also currently has only 1 scholarship to give in 2010 unless someone leaves or mick uses one of the 3 scholarships for the 08' class on a JUCO guy.

I've read comments about future scholarship availability and I really don't think it's an issue. By the time of 2009 signings, if the kid meets a need, there will be a scholarship. Always has been, always will. Qualifying, grades, arrests, transfers, etc. are always going to happen. And let's hope we have somebody good enough to leave early for the NBA!

I believe that the "old climate" around the program that consistently produced open scholarships due to grades, qualifying, arrests etc is going to be greatly changed uder Mick! We will probably have to do some manuevering but it will come in the form of players leaving because of too much competition for playing time or accepting academic scholarships for the sake of the team. I also believe that the increased level of recruiting will definitely result in early NBA entrees (see McClain, Yancy Gates and possibly Jason Henry). I may be dreaming but I have that kind of faith in Mick and his dedication to establishing a pristeen reputation for "his school"!

It's called contingency plans if someone has to leave for academic reasons, disciplinary reasons or does leave for the NBA.

I agree, I'm hoping the contigency year doesn't come until 2010 so we have 2 great years in 08' and 09'...

I don't remember very many of those since the late 1980's under Tony Yates.
A few who never made it to campus under Huggins, 3 or 4 over 16 years, but not many.

You have very little basis to support your last statement. The biggest lost of players/scholarships had to do with coaching changes from the last couple of years. I fully support Mick, but that doesn't make him a Saint. As long as you have young adults/teenagers they're going to make mistakes. (In classroom or out of classroom). I hope we can get to the point, where Mick can coach guys into the NBA. Mick is a excellent recruiter but he still has alot to prove on the coaching end. Hopefully, in time, Mick will be excellent in both fields.
