ESPN.com's Recruiting Coordinator Antonio Williams describes Kilpatrick as a pure scorer.

"Cincinnati got themselves a good scoring guard prospect," Williams said. "Sean excels in shooting the ball from the perimeter, especially in catch-and-shoot situations. He has an efficient jumper, getting the shot off very quickly with very little wasted motion. Kilpatrick also releases the ball nice and high when shooting jumpers and has a nice follow-through.

"He also has decent athleticism and quickness," continued Williams. "In addition to good passing ability and vision."

Williams expects Kilpatrick to mesh nicely with Cincinnati's offense next season.

"Sean should see a number of opportunities for his textbook jump shot, playing with talented, young Bearcats such as point guard Cashmere Wright and power forward Yancy Gates," Williams said. "With Wright's incredible quickness and penetration skills, Kilpatrick should benefit from many open jumpers resulting from passes off penetration.

"Kilpatrick should also see open jumpers from Gates passing the ball out of double teams in the post," Williams offered. "His ability to stretch defenses with his shooting will provide open driving lanes for Wright and room in the paint for Gates to get shots off."

Sounds like a good fit, it will be interesting to see what happens now that we are +1 in scholly's for next year (assuming Williams gets a 6th year).

Sounds like a good fit, but honestly is that what we need? I mean we have Deonta and Larry davis at the two spot. Do we really need a third?

I for one would say that this is something we can use. It has been a while that we have had a guy who is a pure shooter. Most of the 2 and 3's we have recruited seem to be slashers more than pure jump shooters. We may not need Sean to play excessive minutes next year with Deonta still around, but if we need instant points, won't it be nice to have a shooter waiting to come in (ie Field Williams type roll)?

I think it's a good fit as well. Vaughn's leaving after next year anyway, and I'm not convinced that Davis can get the job done consistently. Hopefully Larry worked on his defense and ball handling skills. Seems to me you could always count on him to turn the ball over whenever he got into the game.

I think it's time to pull Belton's scholly

I think the schollie situation is going to work itself out after this season. One of the six sophomore players is bound to be unhappy after not getting much playing time this season. I see someone possibly walking away if that happens.

We shall see.

You can never have to many guards. Afterall, you need a bench, and you need someone to groom to replace Vaughn. And we definitely need scorers. Cincinnati basketball is back talent wise, we just have to put it together on the court and get back to the NCAA Tournament and do some damage.

Moreover, Coach Cronin has stated that his preference is a running, high-pressure type of team. UC is going to need plenty of guards.
