VanExel's game winning shot at the Shoe against UAB where he continued on into the locker room as the shot went in. Also, Van Exel's pull up 3 from half court against Xavier at halftime.

Sanders game winning three against then ranked Minnesota in the first game at the Shoe. A walk on football player setting the stage for the next 17 plus years.
The worst was when UC was ranked number one and went down in the conference tourney's first game when they lost their best player, the emotional leader, and the national player of the year in Martin. We would have won the NCAA that year.

I also enjoyed Steve Logan's game-tying shot (rolled around the rim a ton of times before dropping) on senior night versus Memphis that sent it into overtime (UC beat Dajuan Wagner and the Calipari crew in the extra frame).
Is there anyway you can post the video online (on GoBearcats.com, if not YouTube)after it is produced?

The Levett dunk from out of nowhere has to be my favorite as I was in the student section watching as he was coming towards me.
Other favorite moments in UC basketball history:
-The dunk at the end of the game to beat Duke.
-Any Erik Hicks putback dunk
-Kenyon sending someone's shot into the bleachers, then flexing into the camera
-Kenyon taking the team on his back against Depaul to win the game
-Donald Little hitting a shot from the elbow to beat a Dwayne Wade led Marquette team
The sad thing is that I remember the worst moments too well and where I was at as well.
-The halfcourt shot to get beat by Arizona - Watching in Calhoun Hall
-The prayer that WVU hit in the NCAA to beat us - Watching at Damon's Columbus
- Damon Flint rimming out a buzzer beater to get beat by Iowa State in the NCAAs - Watching it at Huggs Inn
-Kenyon breaking his leg - Watching in the Rhine room
-Charles Williams bouncing it of his foot against Xavier - In the student section
Here is hoping for some memories to add to the intro this year

Wasn't the Arizona game a milestone win for Olson too? 400 wins maybe? What about the Cal game in the 7up shootout where Damon Flint did the up and under the arm dunk. Vitale..."Too much Mustard on the hot dog." That Cal team had J Kidd too and we beat them easily. I'd like to see some D Flint on there. I'm one of very few that was always a fan. Damn turf toe. :D

Don't remember what game it was but Eric Hick's had a nasty reverse slam on a break away then screamed and flexed right in one of the opposing player's faces. That was BA

I completely agree w/ most of those mentioned...the pass to mel is my favorite, the length of the court pass to fortson for the layup, my favorite bearcat d.burton nailing a corner 3 to beat uab is another classic!!

Actually we lost to Jason Kidd and the Cal team. We kept it fairly close in the first half but they pulled away in the second. You may be thinking of the win we put up against Georgia Tech and Stephon Marbury in the tournament. I believe that game put us in the sweet 16. Flint had a great game.

UC lost Oscar Robertson and Ralph Davis to the NBA. Tom Thacker and Tony Yates replaced them.
But UC won the NCAA championship over favored Ohio State. And repeated in 1962 over HEAVILY favored OSU. Ohio St lost 3 games over those 2 seasons.
Please don't forget Herb Jones. My all time favorite!!! Pick any of his fast-break left handed jams over people!! What a finisher!! Ran off ~17 straight pts one time against S Alabama I think.

I was at the game when Steve S hit the shot as time expired to beat Minn. The crowd went crazy. Life was brought back to Cincinnati basketball.

That tremendous Cross-Town shootout -- I believe in 1986. Roger McClendon and Byron Larkin each hitting one shot after another. It came down to Joe Stiffen hitting a jumper at the buzzer to win. Played at the Colesium... It was my first Cross-Town -- what a way to indocrinate a freshman! I went to every UC home game that year and sat with the other 2,000 or so fans. This game was sold-out, and we had no idea what to expect (being from a different city).

great idea to remember Oscar. And the NCAA champs teams.
How about compiling old players with the newer players - a pass from Van Excel to Oscar to K-mart for a dunk - what a cool montage that would make. Or the big O rebound, pass to 'Vert for a dunk -
Lots of great memories - make sure Bearcat defense is highlighted - blocks and steals.
Good idea for a new video - glad the university is being inclusive of prior eras.

In addition to all mentioned already, I'd love to see some highlights from:
Romel Shorter (sp?), Cedric Glover, Levertis Robinson, Roger McClendon, Andre Tate, Lou Banks, Herb Jones, Ruben Patterson the 1992 and 1993 NCAA tourney runs (especially everyone holding up four fingers after beating Memphis and Anfernee in KC for the 4th time in the same season...that was a fun atmosphere to be at) so many more!

The game where Eric Hick's twisted both his ankles but still kept dominating against taller opponents. Cant remember who it was though

The early 60's teams were so team-oriented that there weren't many highlight reel moments. Any Bonham swisher from the corner has to be on the film. Oscar with his split leg rebound. Bob Wiesenhan's (sp?) elbow flying rebounds. The '61 and '62 teams holding up the trophies. And, of course, Gale Catlett's sport coats.
For you youngsters, Wiesenhan would get a rebound, tuck the ball into his chest, stick his elbows out and twist his body as fast as he could. I think he singled-elbowed a rule change.

Lots of good ones mentioned already. Trying not to repeat, but here are a few more:
- Fortson taking the court-long pass and taking 4 or 5 steps before making the game winning shot (I think this may have been against Tulane)
- Durden scoring 45 vs Wyoming including 3 FT's after time expired
- Any footage of Gregor & Nelson smothering Hardaway (taking charges, etc) as UC beat Memphis State for the 4th time the same year on the way to the final 4

I think it'd be nice to include the midnight madness with vitale and the kid who won a free year's tuition. the silence as the ball was going in the air was golden, and the explosion afterwards was great.

LaZelle Durden's 3 pointer (even though it was really a 2 pointer, his foot was on the line) to win the Great Midwest Tournament. I think it was in 1995.
Darnell Burton's 3 pointer to beat Tulane from the corner.
The victory over UNC in 99-00 was great. Even though UNC didn't have a great record, I think they went on to make the final 4 as an 8 seed that year.
Erik Martin's game winning layup where the team ran straight to the locker room afterwards.

not sure if these have already been mentioned but:
1) dermarrs pull up j against depaul when kenyon brought us back and dicky v was going absolutely nuts
2) Jermaine Tates dunk against Wake Forest
3) Maxiells three in the tourny against Iowa
4) Logans game winning bank against south florida, huggins actually gave him the ball instead of satterfield
5) Any time Field went up for a three
6) Bobbits game winning three in the tourney against East Tennessee State
7) Pittsnoggles free throw
8) Maybe show the selection show when we were announced as a one seed?

OOOHHH....dont think its been mentioned yet, but I'd love to see Lazelle Durden's "shush" (finger to lips) against Wyoming I believe. I think (fuzzy memory) that it was as he stepped to the free throw line to sink the game winners...just part of his 45/49 point (again fuzzy memory) performance.

--Logan hitting his patented pullup jumper

most of my favorites were already mentioned. one that probably will never make a big time highlight video but one of my favorite uc moments none-the-less was UC vs UD during the rock n roll shootout when Kenyon forced an altered shot and then blocked the next shot to save UC in the final seconds vs Dayton.

End of the WV game a couple years ago. When Mick ran out on the court the referee grabbed him around the waist to turn him in the other direction. Mick jumped about 6 inches because he thought someone had attacked him.

At half time at a uc home game about 4 years ago the dance team was wearing a new and quite provocative and revealing outfit. I was in the 5th row on the opposite side from the UC bench when one of the dancers breasts briefly popped out of her top. I had two teenage nephews with me and I can tell you it was more exciting than the game. I am sure someone on this site was there that day.

When Hicks blocked Chalmers of XU and flexed at him. That was pretty intimidating and a good indicator of the intensity that UC basketball brings.
Maxiell's dunk over Otis George in the C-USA tourney 2004.
James White over Taquan Dean in 2005.
Jermaine Tate over Louisville when he was like horizontal in 99. Off the feed from Horton I think.
Too many to list really....Martin's full court block on Lloyd Price sent a message also!

WOW - what a Great Idea !!!!
Or maybe Oscar's famous spread eagle rebound and an outlet to Kenyon with a pass to Deonta V for a trey? That would connect two of the former era's with today.
I'd also like to see some old footage from the Armory (assuming any exists)

Any of the local TV stations probably have that footage in their vaults. You can probably Google it and find some Youtube clips, too.

I was hoping to get this in earlier, but I just joined. If there are still openings for the ideas on the new video - I would love to see the final plays of the Depaul game (at Depaul - UC was down about 20 points at some time in the game) that Kenyon Martin worked both ends of the floor better than anyone I've seen before. He single-handedly won the game, and let it be known that he was by far the best player in the country.
One side note, does anyone know where I can land a video of that game???
