PG - Vaughn/Dixon (played point in HS)
SG - Davis/Mitchell or vice versa/Miller
SF - Bishop/Wilks (Mitchell here some as well)
PF - Williams/Gates
C - Toyloy/McClain/Riek will play alot when eligible
Get ready for some zone guys.
UC quarterback Dustin Grutza helped lead his Mason County (Ky.) basketball team to a state title.
Wide receiver Dominick Goodman originally committed to play basketball at Division II Findlay before he was offered a football scholarship at UC.

I hope you're joking...these are fun facts but I really hope you're joking about putting any of them on the team.

Plenty of talent. 2 deep at each position with talented players. 20 W or close to it. No more excuses, just W games.

Marcus Barnett can dunk very well, and has a pretty good shot...

This team could be incredibly long and if they play zone that could be potentially a very good thing. "If" Mitchell plays the two, and Wilks is at the three (with his reach) Toyloy, Riek, McClain in the post and Williams/Gates at the four spot, they should be able to restrict passing lanes. I still feel good about this team.

What would it hurt? The team has a history of getting contributions from football players: Steve Sanders, Brad Jackson, Connor Barwin...I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. No one's suggesting they're going to start or play double-digit minutes, but if they can help out in practice, give the starters a breather during the game, why not. ****, you know they're good athletes, and you KNOW Goodman will dive for a loose ball. ;)

I am trying to remain optimistic for this coming year, but guys, it doesn't look good. I hope we don't hear all year this quote from our leader: "This is a massive rebuilding project". The fact of the matter is this is his 3rd year and at least for me, no more excuses. I expect at least an NCAA tournament appearance (not necessarily any wins). I don't think that is too much to ask in his third year and the history of our program-any thoughts?

Really? Every single post has been negative. This team continues to improve. Compare this team to last years team that beat a lot of very good teams. Even without Cash they are a better team. Have some faith.

It was a massive rebuilding project. Cronin hasn't made excuses about Wright's injury. He stated they need to change their style of play. He also stated that the injury hurts, which is true.

History of the program has meant squat when it comes to rebuilding this program. The Big East helps the recruiting, but none of the recruits really care that this was a program that won two national championships in the 60's. At this point, the NCAA is a long shot. Considering you expect the NCAA this year when you said the recruits plus current Sophomores weren't any good seems like the expectations are a bit too high.

2007 and 2008 are over.
Start to W again in 2009 and the W big soon after.
Purdue replaced a legendary coach (Keady) in 2005. They struggled (under new coach Painter) in 2006 again.
Then 22 W in 2007 followed by 25 W in 2008 against BCS conference schedule.
No excuses. Painter just wins.

Not saying it would hurt but it would not help. And were definitely not at a point where we need to result to that

Indeed. The new Purdue coach took his lumps then proceeded to W big and bigger in his 2nd and 3rd years.
Time to do the same (or similar) at UC.

Your posts are becoming more and more ralph like. No one cares about the useless knowledge you bring to the board, that cant be compared in any way to UC.

Purdue plays in an easy b-ball conference. Easily the most overrated big six top conference.

No excuses. Painter just wins. What don't you understand about "the cupboard was bare"? There is no similar situation in college basketball to what Mick faced.
Pulling these "new coach" situations out of a hat is just silly and obliterates whatever credibility you had left.

There is now... I think it will be interesting to watch what Crean does at Indiana. Meaning... I am genuinely curious. I think Crean has a little bit easier of a job - but this is only because the Big Ten has less good teams than the Big East (less teams to leap frog). Although the situations are somewhat similar.

Bare cupboard = valid excuse in 2007 or 2008.
Not in 2009. No more excuses. Just W again.
