Gilchrist is backing out of his Virginia Tech LOI due to the shootings. He is the Scout #9 C and the Rivals #26 PF. 6-9 230-245 kid.

With all that has occurred at VT, this certainly doesnt help. On the flip side, I would strongly consider VT if I were a recruit as I would imagine that it would be even safer after what has occurred. And also keep in mind that this incident could have easily happened at UC as well as any other school

I wish VT all the best but I dont blame the kid for not wanting to go there because he isnt ready for that. It sucks for them but they need kids that want to be there and help build the program. They should let him go although it looks like that wont happen. I hope VT understands this kid may not be ready for this.
