Maybe I'm reading this all wrong (it certainly wouldn't be the first time), but it almost sounds like a demotion to me.

I thought one of the biggest reasons Thad brought in Dan Peters was his recruiting ability in Ohio.

Like I said, maybe I'm misinterpreting this, just wondering what others might think.

Sounds like a demotion to me. Of course, "it also enables him to spend quality time with family while still serving the basketball team at the highest level.." Blah blah. He got demoted.

Demotion, no doubt.

this is 100% a demotion and it leaves OSu with the ability to bring in another coach.

Someone with ties to a top recruit no doubt.

It definitely is a demotion. I have noticed he Dan Peters no longer sat next to Thad this past season he was way down at the other end of the bench. Next move is out of the program.

Ok, well good to know I wasn't just imagining things. I'm usually the kind of person who sees the positive side of things first, but I just couldn't in this case.

Now I have to wonder if he did something to offend Matta, or if Matta's just finished with him and moving on to the next person he can use.

Word is that he wanted a different type of recruiter. I don't know what that means since he was the point on Dequan Cook who got Oden and Conley to come to OSU. I personally think it is a good chance for OSU to get golden boy Chris Jent onto the staff, but he hasn't been named yet.
