Dean Doug Lowry from CCM has quit. This is a tough loss as CCM is one of the bright spots at UC.

I blame Darth Zimpher!

I dont blame her for this defection. It looks kinda like a player leaving early for the NBA, which I never had a problem with.

I blame Zimpher for Armageddon. Although it hasn't happened yet, I'm sure her evil hand will be in it somewhere.

Dean Lowry declared for the NBA draft?

Wow!

(j/k of course)

Hard to tell, because I am not intimately familiar with how universities work, but both the CCM dean and the 2 or 3 heads of the opera departments they mention as leaving all sound a lot more like lateral moves than promotions to me.

To say that Dean Mowry is leaving UC "for the NBA" is ridiculous. CCM is the clearly in the "NBA of music schools", competing with the likes of Juliard, Indiana, and Yale. It's Musical Theater program is widely considered the best in the world (yes, the WORLD), and it puts out consistent top-level opera talent. UC students and alumni need to learn how to position the "gems" that we have in Clifton, not bemoan our supposed "fate as a second tier school". Shame on all of us when we think small about our Alma Mater...

Hence the "j/k" in my earlier reply... the term "j/k" is Internet slang for Just Kidding.

Not at all defensive. Explained why I though you were answering me and suggested a better way for you to reply to whomever it is you want to answer.
