This time last year we were 4-3 with losses to Belmont, Bowling Green and UAB. The biggest margin of victory was by 15 over Coastal Carolina. The average ranking of our opponents was identical both years (205 - excluding S. Dak.)
After losing to UAB we lost 4 more in a row. We entered BEAST play @ 5-7.
This year, worst case is 10-3 going into conference. With luck and continued improvement it could be 11-2 or even 12-1!
That's the kind of progress we were all hoping for. We'll probably have to win 2 or 3 more in conference this year to reach the magic 20W (reg. season).

Your right, we are starting to look like the Bearcats. I know we can beat any team in our OOC schedule

I like many are missing Cash. However, he is not coming back this year. We need to come up with a consistant (that is good consistancy) at the point. I hope that MC is addressing this each and every practice. This team is getting better and they need the support of the Bearcat Nation. We need to get over Darth Z and support MC and the team. Those fans that left because Huggs left need to get over it and come back. I am sure that they will all be welcome.

Mick said on the radio show that he was playing with Davis and Dixon at point alot. He also said in a scenario where Vaughn was off the floor the following would occur: Halfcourt D by opponent = Rashad Bishop bringing the ball up because he knows the offense best. Pressure D by opponent - Davis/Dixon brining it up. It is being addressed and he has a plan. They are getting valuable experience and it will pay off later. Dixon is going to be tough to keep out of this line up as time marches on.

20 W. The 2009 team is deeper and talented. 20 W. No excuses.

20 W. The 2009 team is deeper and talented. 20 W. No excuses. Now that I've seen the progress and capabilities of this team, I'm with you. 20 W!!!!
But, "no excuses" is a bit too negative for my taste.

I am as big a fan as any, but "any team in our OOC schedule" includes Xavier and Memphis. Here's hoping you are right! ;)

I'm going to reiterate what Bearcat Jeff said.
I think this team will be top 10 next year with EVERYONE RETURNING and hopefully the addition of John Riek plus Kilpatrick (probably won't play much).
This team is on a two year adventure. A two year journey to be the best. Making the NCAA Tournament should be their goal this year. Winning the Big East and being ranked high should be their goal next year in attempting to secure a high seed in the tourney.
I try to look at blessings in disguise, and Cash's injury allows this team to force Dixon and Davis to work on their ballhandling and decision making skills. They have 30 games to do it in during this season and what they learn will be very valuable.

He's not saying we will beat all the teams, just that we CAN beat them which is true. Xavier and Memphis have something in common....OVERRATED.

Guess the artist? Oh, wait, Keith will probably delete this so don't worry about it. WTF...

Whoa! We can't even beat Florida State on a neutral court. We have yet to beat a quality opponent. It always makes me chuckle when we get carried away by a few victories in what has been an EXTREMELY cupcake schedule so far.

It always makes me chuckle when someone posts who clearly knows nothing about the college game. To say UNLV and UAB are "EXTREMELY" cupcake may be the most ridiculus statement posted on this board in a while. I just hope you are a troll, on here to rile people up because if not and you believe that, then you should not post on a college basketball board. (By the way, UAB beat Arizona at Arizona and played Oklahoma to w/i 10 points at Oklahoma.)

What are you drunk? I said we can beat anybody in our OOC schedule. We can, I am not saying we will or we will be the favorites or anything but we are capable of beat all of those teams. No team we play is out of our league by any stretch.

Sure, on any given day I guess any team can beat any other team.

I didn't say every team on our schedule has been a cupcake. But the scehdule has been EXTREMELY cupcake. There isn't one win I can point to and claim for sure is a quality win. Maybe down the road UAB or UNLV will be turn out to be outstanding teams, but I have my doubts. And I certainly wouldn't bet anything on it.
If we beat Xavier and/or Memphis I will call those quality wins, even though many on this board claim they are overrated.

A young team needs time to mesh and build confidence. I would say it's working quite well. Wins against X and/or Memphis would put us exactly where we need to be going into conference.

The win at UNLV was VERY quality buddy. That team was DESPERATE, and on their home floor... and was in the dance last year and the Sweet 16 two years ago, and had seniors.
That win showed that this team has some big cahones.
And UAB beat us by 17 last season, so how is THAT not a good win?
Haha... all these Negative Naysayers are brilliant.

Yeah, I'm confused, those are some quality wins. ****, with the seasons we've had the past few years, all wins are quality wins.

I get a chuckle out of you.
All praise to Xavier's great OOC schedule. They play 2 ranked teams - Memphis and Duke.
You know why? BECAUSE THE A-10 SUCKS.
Check out UC's schedule from now through January - February. According to the top 25 right now, UC has 11 games against top 25 opponents. Xavier, Memphis, Marquette, UConn, Georgetown (twice), Notre Dame, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Syracuse. I suspect that if any of them fall out of the top 25, another Big East team will replace them. We all know other than possibly Dayton, there won't be any other A-10 teams sniffing the top 25. Hahahaha. I hope Xavier doesn't fall asleep through the months of January and February. I guess they can use it to work on their FT shooting. ;)
Tell me again why we need an extremely difficult OOC schedule? :D:rolleyes:
I wonder which team will get better TV ratings the next few months?
