Yes, he has UC as one of his "favorites" (I put it in quotes since he has more than a few of them).

No doubt that was a great play, but the question is whether it was worth the technical foul?

He has about 20 "favorites" right now but that was pretty sweet.

I think the way he acted after the dunk deserved a technical foul. No ref will let him get away with that at any level.

Does anyone have information on Chris Singleton? Where does he have us on his list?

Willie Warren is at least the highest rated player that the Cats are going after right now. My wish list would be Warren, Woods and Walker, but I don't think that Woods is really an option.

UC is on the tail end of Singleton's list of 6 schools. He has reiterated that Tennessee is his favorite and with the heavy hitters involved like UNC and Kentucky, he's a long shot. Still impressive UC is in his final six nonetheless.

(Clipped from) Hoopmasters on Walker:

"...Currently he has St. John's, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Memphis, and Memphis at the top of his list," Richardson said. "But, I've heard this week from Tennessee and Kentucky, so that list could grow." No doubt about it, Kemba Walker has become a hot commodity this spring...

Just received June issue of Basketball Times. Clark Francis has rankings for Top 50 in each of the years 2008 thru 2010. For 2008, Gates #14, Wilkes #39, Willie Warren #9, Darius Miller #37. For 2009, McElroy #46.

I disagree. I think Warren was scowling because he was wondering why he got a technical foul. He nearly jumped over the kid, but clearly it was a charge. It was a pretty sweet dunk. But he just landed and bounced to keep from falling or stepping on the opposing player on the ground. He was trying to avoid hurting the kid, plus he was probably having an adrenaline rush from that high flying dunk.

I thought he deserved to be called for a charge, but the technical was out of line. He didn't seem like he was being super cocky to me. Maybe a little bit, but if I had just nailed that dunk, I would be flying high too.

My take as well. I thought after the dunk he tried to avoid contact and not hurt the other player or himself. After getting the T, he seem to turn away in disbelief at the call. Unless he did other things earlier in the game to irk the refs or was smack talking after the dunk, the technical was a bad call.

It looks from the video (not the greatest angle) that Xavier Henry was standing almost underneath the basket and I know there is no line in high school, AAU or college for charges but that was clearly not a charge. If anything it should have been an And 1. Also the play happened late in the game with Willie's team down 2 points so to call a charge there (forget the awful technical call) would have been completely unwarranted.

That was a charge. The defender had established position and held his ground until contact was made by Warren. It is incumbent upon the offensive player in such a situation to avoid contact. It would be different in the NBA, since their rules are different under the basket.

I can't comment on the T, since it's hard to tell why the ref assessed it. Maybe he verbally taunted the defender. Who knows? There's nothing in the video to suggest anything untoward.

My guess is that the T was probably a result of something he said after making the dunk. He has been known to do a little trash talking during games. Of course it is all in good fun but that is something the refs have been trying to control. Something I always loved about Max was no matter what kind of monster dunk he did instead of running his mouth he just ran back to get on defense.

I agree with IKMTY, the defender was up on his tip toes, leaned back and actually stepped back, in college, I thought that would have been an and one. In the slow motion shot you can see that the defender was never really standing strait up before Warren jumped. But I'm no expert on high school rules, and I expect they have some variation from state to state.

It looked to me like he gave the defender a taunting shoulder wag while retreating and his body language looked as if he said something to him as he looked down while standing over him. I wasn't surprised by the technical at all.

BTW, the defender's feet didn't move an inch until the body contact. Definite charge.
