Article basically states Smith is going to start classes on Monday and that he plans on filing the hardship waiver to play next year - father is battling cancer.

II was kind of hoping Smith might somehow slip through the cracks and become a Bearcat. Since it did not happen and we will not see Tennessee until the 2009 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. I wish him the best of luck .

Yep, That's the only place he could go and have a shot at getting the hardship waiver... It will be interesting to see if 1) he is granted the waiver and is on the court next year and 2) If he'll really be a 1 and done guy as he has discussed. I'll be keeping my eye on both of those things over the next year or so. I wish him the best of luck!
