The other game features another UC fan favorite (Andy Kennedy, but in reality any coach playing against loserville would be a Cincy fan favorite!) I wish Andy well in all of his endeavors and current entaglements. :(

The key is obviously score more points... I brought this up in another thread about this game, on a couple of occasions this team has put up 80-100 points, which means they can shoot the ball. But when they're held under 70 points, that's where 2 or their 3 losses came from. So it is my best assumption we should NOT try and run the floor, but keep it a half court game to keep Missy from grabbing a huge advantage at any time.

I might be in the minority here, but I tend to root for the Big East against all other conferences, regardless of how much I dislike the team. At the end of the season those bad non-conference losses (i.e. Syracuse/Cleveland State) can easily be used by the NCAA selection committee when they consider strength of conferences.

Okay guys, I know I asked this indirectly on another thread but I'm looking for help... is there a deal out there in place for students to get cheap (I heard $10.00) tickets for tonight's game? How and where are these tickets purchased? Is this even true? I'm not a student at UC but multiple people in my family are/were and we were wondering.

Thanks a ton! Is that only walk-up sales at US Bank? Because I followed the link and ended up at ticketmaster where I had been and there was nothing about it that I saw. Sorry if I'm seeming inept, this student ticket thing isn't my bag, I'm a Div. III college student, I'm not used to it!

Anyone have an idea on ticket sales now? Last time I heard it was somewhere around 3,000 sold... pretty sad. I'm hoping UofL brings a decent contingent.

Yeah, heard that on his radio show last night. He said Varnado grew up about 90 miles from Murray St. and attended their basketball camps for years. He said no one knew about him but Murray until he went to some AAU tournament late in his high school career, and then Miss. St. came calling. Otherwise, Mick said he would have gone to Murray.

On paper UC looks to be 8-10 point winners. Miss. State just a week or so ago lost to Charlotte. BUT! If they come out and tiptoe around like they did with XU it could be different. I think Mick needs to fire them up before the game instead of waiting until halftime. Get in MS's face the first play of the game and stay there! Here's hoping! UC missed a great chance to make a statement in that XU game. Came out and played like a high school team. That game was over early and most fans probably didn't even watch the second half. Oh well.

UC finishes the half on a 15 - 0 run (mainly from Vaughn) and goes into halftime up 47 - 29. Amazing how much a difference it makes when a team makes its shots.

Good first half. I thought we got a little 3 happy for a stretch, but you cant argue with a big first half lead.

Defense was solid, especially on the perimiter...pressuring shots and challenging passes. Dont thow the actual stats, but I think we have the edge in rebounding, assists, turnovers and shooting percentage.

I am completely befuddled by all the UC fans, both on this site and the ones I know personally, who like Bishop. Rashad Bishop provides absolutely nothing to this team. On offense he is absolutely horrendous. He takes terrible shots, shoots at a low percentage, and turns it over. Defensively he commits silly fouls consistently and if you watch his off the ball defense, like a lot of guys on UC's team, he is terrible.

Darnell Wilks jump shot has improved tremendously since last year. He isn't an outstanding shooter, but he is much better. Clearly he has worked hard on his shot. On the other hand you have Bishop who may actually be a worse shooter than last year.

He completely annoys me when he is in the game.

Im a old F if i was in there I'd be throwing elbows and flying knees, trying too help my team get rebounds and i would be first back down the court. OUR WING PLAY IS SICKLY......Kirpatrick......

In just about every game this year, our team shows flashes of being a great team but when they get a few bad breaks, they lose all their intensity.

I'm glad to see a win and hope we can get a little stronger before Big East play so we can match or beat our conference performance from a year ago.

He is a defensive player. Some people dont/cant see that. He does small things that are hard to appreciate. I agree he doesnt give much on offense, but when you play mitchell and davis you need to have someone who prides themselves on D.

Well we did exactly what we had to do, Miss State is now 1-3 when scoring under 70 points and we held them to 63. The fact we played sloppy at times and still won by 12 is encouraging, it's proof the talent is there, but mentally this team still has some kinks, work out the kinks and I think we'll do just fine in BE play.

My feelings on Bishop are based on the entire year. Except for tonight, I had a conflict, I have been to every game. I am a season ticket holder. I watch Bishop very closely on defense, and quite frankly I don't see all these small things people appreciate. He is not a good defender. If he had been on any teams prior to the last three years, including this one, he would be an 8 minute a night guy. Someone to give the others rest.
