If you are an AP voter who still rewards a national championship separate of the BCS who do you give it to.

Utah beat:
Alabama by 13 (Florida beat them by 11)
Oklahoma State (who beat USC)
Michigan (another BCS conference team)
TCU (most likely top 10 team)

0 losses + good wins = my no. 1 team

It was Oregon State that they beat and beat USC, but still impressive, they have my vote also. But no way they give NC to a non-SEC/Big 12 team. Just not glamorus enough, but stranger things have happened.

You mean Oregon State.

If you love the BCS, vote for the winner of the Florida/Oklahoma game: if you'd love to see a playoff, vote for the Utes, and embarrass the BCS.

Sorry it is late and am still tired from the trip, but have a touch of insomnia. I meant oregon state. Thanks.

I hope the ap has the guts to do it.

My vote goes to Utah. No questions asked.

When Florida or Oklahoma wins the BCS champ game, the question will be very hard for the winner to avoid:

"Did you play against Utah?"

The BCS formula is ugly.

I suspect that Utah will be #2 in the final poll. The winner of the NC game will be #1

Give me a break, Utah is good.. but Florida or Oklahoma good? I don't think so. Alabama proved they were weak and were beneficiaries of a weak, WEAK schedule. There are at least 5 teams out there that would put a pounding on Utah.... Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, USC, Penn State, I'll even throw Ohio State in there, reason being, Utah doesn't and never will have the talent levels that these schools are able to recruit.

Alabama a weak schedule? They started by crushing Clemson and went undefeated in the regular season going through the SEC. Not many teams can claim that type of resume. That is a little like walking the Green Mile and coming out with a smile on your face.

But before I crown a #1 forgive me if I let the season wrap up before I decide.

Not sure what it is now, but when they faced Florida, their strength of schedule was 85th. That's nothing to brag about.

Anyway, this article will make you feel even sorrier for Utah. They got totally robbed, and the reason is worse than you could think. They definitely get my vote, but frankly, I don't think there should be any human voting period. Stats and numbers that the computers calculate should be enough.

Utah's schedule (at the end of the year) will have had 2 top 10 teams and 2 other ranked teams if not three. It also has the only team that beat USC on it and a team that didn't lose in the regular season in the SEC. It isn't the strongest Strength of schedule, but it is adequate to put a 0 loss team over a 1 loss team in my book in the AP vote.

I don't think it will happen, but if I am an AP voter I vote for who deserves it. They may not have the athletic ability of other teams, but they play better as a team and scheme better. Not many teams with an offense and a defense this year and Utah is one of them.

No way Utah would beat USC, OU, or Florida and they had a P.O.S schedule. TCU?? no. Bama was without their best player and to shuffle their line around. They are good but until they join the PAC-10 who cares?

Come on, Utah did beat powerhouse michigan by 3 guys.

Oh OK they did beat the powerhouses like TCU, BYU.... these are frauds that got to play a team without their best player. That screwed their O-line.

Mid Major teams dont beat the elite in college football.

COuld they beat us? Yeah probably but Florida? USC? OU? That is straight up laughable.

Utah=Texas Tech

Wait!!! You like teams who rack up wins against inferior teams more than Major teams who play the best day in and day out???

huh

I will take a team with 0 losses who beat 2 top 10 teams and 2 other ranked teams. Their schedule is comperable with USC. At what point does not losing over ride a tougher schedule? With Utah it should. I will take the only undefeated team as long as they have an adaquete schedule and theirs is in the top half of the country.

My number 1 vote goes to Notre Dame. As in, "Hey, ND, you're the number 1 school I want to leave the Big East until you learn to play football with the big boys."

BS again. Utah was 13-0 and beat the snot out of Alabama, which was #1 ranked and undefeated not too long ago.

TCU is not a top 10 team. They beat a Boise State team who had a very easy schedule and that's about their only quality win. TCU was blown out by Oklahoma as well. Oregon State is very streaky as well. They were demolished by PSU and Oregon. Oregon State is barely a top 25 team. Now Utah is a very good team, but I'm really not a fan of letting teams back into big games. They play in a fairly weak conference and had too many close games with bad teams. They may have a shot at beating a team like Florida or Oklahoma, but if they were in the Big 12 or SEC they'd have a few losses by now.
