Uncle Woody's bar in Clifton is sporting a large banner that says "DING DONG THE WITCH IS GONE C-PAW FOREVER"

Does anyone know what this is all about? If someone tells me how to post a pciture I will put it on here. Or if someone gives me their email address I will send it to them.

There have been a lot of rumors coming out of the athletic department about something going on in the Presidents office... I am sure that the owner of Woody's (I forget his name now, Buzzy or something like that?) would know as he has always had a lot of AD employees stopping by. I think he may be a member of UCATS as well.

Wow! Interesting that he'd put it up. You figure there is some kind of reason. I checked my work email and there is nothing there, but it made me work for 30 minutes daggonit (i am not necessarily on the clock right now)!

There is absolutely nothing to these rumors, Nancy Z will be UC President for many years to come. Nancy has been wonderful for UC. She has been doing an excellent job at cleaning up the financial mess left by Steger and has greatly increased the academic quality of incoming freshman. UC will have their largest freshman class in decades this fall because of the leadership provided by Dr. Z.

Hmmm... could it also have the largest class in decades because of the fact that there are now more students nationwide than in decades?

Is Ralph living in a sensory deprevation chamber? Putting aside the basketball situation, Ralphs' friend has driven away ten deans and numerous respected academics.

Not a championship performance.

Dean's who were stale and underperforming. Unlike Steger who made promises to everyone and never delivered, Nancy delivers on her promises and agenda.

Bob Huggins had to go, he was an embarrassment to UC and himself. Rick Reilly stated recently in Sports Illustrated that one thing you will never find in any dictionary is a picture of Bob Huggins next to the word "class".

Reilly has never spoken to Huggins in his life. Never. Ever.

With that in mind, I've never concerned myself with what Reilly has to say about Huggins because he knows as much about Huggins as he does about me.

How do you know Reilly has never spoken to Huggins in his life? Go back and read Reilly's article on Huggins in last October's NBA preview issue titled "Buyer Beware". He described Huggins absolutely correct in that article.
His recent comment about Huggins having no class was in SI about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Writing an op-ed article about someone does not prove that you ever met that person. Many a writer has penned an article about UC and/or Huggins without ever spending any time talking with anyone directly associated with UC and/or Huggins.

There are many writers out there with an ax to grind. Dan Lepatard (sp?) with the Miami Herald comes to mind. Dan is a notorious Huggins critic and I would venture to guess that he has never met Huggins personally.

I never it said it did.

Mike in Clifton has no proof that Reilly has never talked to Huggins in his life, he made that statement with nothing to back it up. However, it is more than likely that Reilly has met and spoken to Huggins at some time in his life, especially in Chicago where UC played DePaul annually.

Yes, but your opinion is biased by Nancy's firing of Bob Huggins. No one on this board would care how many Deans Nancy got rid of if she did not fire Huggins.

How do you know Reilly has never spoken to Huggins in his life?

How do you know he has?

Obviously there is no way for either of us to know this for sure unless Reilly comes out and says he has/hasnt or Huggins comes out and says he has/hasnt.

Someone I know that has spoken to Huggins said that Huggins told him that he has never spoken to Reilly. That was about a year ago. This person is a trusted source on a number of things and I have no reason to doubt him on this info.

Go back and read Reilly's article on Huggins in last October's NBA preview issue titled "Buyer Beware". He described Huggins absolutely correct in that article. His recent comment about Huggins having no class was in SI about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I could describe George Bush to you pretty well, though I've never met him. Public figures are easy to describe if you do enough reading.

And did Reilly describe him "absolutely correct" or did he describe him in a way that agrees with your opinion of Huggins and therfore it is "absolutely correct"?

Seriously. I've caught myself assuming the truth on something because it agrees with a preconceived perception I have of someone or something and discover later that I was wrong.

Just an FYI - personally, I am not necessarily anti-Nancy Zimpher. I've disliked some things, but will grant some good will come out of her leadership. Thats because everyone has a boss and we all do what the boss tells us to do.

NZ makes me think of this guy I knew in high school. Very book smart, but not much common sense. I guess she has a type of intelligence that is much greater than mine, but she doesnt always see the bigger picture. She and the administration was likely a victim of groupthink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink).

If there is one thing that is certain, it is that no one can believe anything that comes out of Bob Huggins mouth. Bob is all about Bob. What was the one about "I will end my career at Kansas State".

So, I'm assuming Mick has some inside knowledge and Nancy will get her reward for setting the UC basketball program back and enabling OSU to get a win.

UC Board of Trustees Meeting on June 26

If anything is going to happen, I would think there would be discussion here. Personally I think Buzz is just ruffling feathers. I have not heard much rumbling and mostly a simple lack of knowledge about this except among "athletic" fans. Seems to localized to mean something, but you never know.

I visited Woddy's 8 times a week when I was an undergrad and Buzzy was never much of a Nancy supporter. He was pissed about the Cpaw, the changes to the deans, etc. and he made his opinions known.

There does seem to be a lot of smoke here as I have heard it from much more than here. How much smoke until we think there is fire.

I won't pretend to know if it is good or bad. I can't pretend to know if the deans were good or anything like that. OSU is announcing in the next 10 days who their new president is and I don't think it will be Nancy, but you never know.

It was a very lovely evening at the UCATS Dinner Cruise last night. Mick Cronin, Brian Kelly, and President Zimpher spoke to the many who attended. Nancy mentioned that the attendence at this years cruise was the largest ever. A silent auction was held, a couple of road trips with the football team, San Diego St. and South Florida were among the items auctioned. Nancy is very supportive of UC Athletics and let it be known she looks forward to many Big East Championships and is very proud of the teams' increased academic success.
