And junior wide receiver Derrick Stewart has been dismissed from school for academic reasons..........

Stewart blossomed into UC’s best deep receiving threat last year and appeared poised to have a big year under Kelly’s wide-open passing schemes.
The 5-11, 170-pound Stewart, from Youngstown, Ohio, was named UC’s Most Outstanding Receiver in 2006. He led the Bearcats in receiving yardage with 675 yards and was second in receptions with 33, averaging 20.5 yards per catch. He caught five touchdown passes.

He also averaged 9.2 yards on 25 punt returns,

“He was given every opportunity to succeed academically,” Kelly said. “A lot of people went to bat for him. He just struggled to the point where he’s going to have to find another place to go to school.”
