View Full Version : Game available anyplace besides ESPNU?

If anyone hears of any websites etc to watch the game please pass along.
I think the free trial on Dish Network for ESPN FUll court is over.
Dish Nework only sells ESPNU in their highest tier which is ridiculous so I decided against it. They of course won't just let me subscribe to 1 channel. I need to buy the whole tier.

Looks like you might be with me for some Heard it from Hoard vision! Is DH signed through next year? I hope so. I could see him wanting to give up on basketball games, I hope not though. I have never in my life listened to Bearcat game and not heard DH. Then again, Until 05'06 I had never seen the Bearcats not make the NCAA tournament. Times are changing. This sucks!

Agreed....Dan Hoard is the man.

Dan -- "Chuck, I noticed that you just shook Ed Hightower's hand...I may never shake that hand again."

Chuck -- "Not a fan of Ed Hightower, are we?"

Dan -- "He might be a nice guy, but I believe his best officiating days are behind him."

Then on the first play of the game, Yancy Gates fouls someone. "And even though Yancy Gates was standing perfectly still with his hands straight up, Ed Hightower still seems to think he caused a foul."

I didn't realize Dish did that. I have Dish so I get ESPNU, but I get all their crappy channels, so i guess that's why I get ESPNU. I wonder if Direct TV does the same thing.

I went to BW3s last Saturday to watch the UC game and eat some wings. You know how hard it was to get them to put on the UC game? You would have thought that no one had ever expressed any interest before in a UC sporting event.

From earlier threads (preseason) Direct seems to be better for watching the Cats this year. Apparently they even gave a $5/month trial for some station when the person wanted to cancel (can't remember if it was Fox Sports or ESPNU).

Yes, I have top 100+ and about 90 of them are crap. On principle I will not buy the top tier just to get ESPNU. I told the manager I'll pay $10/month for ESPNU but not $20 or 25 or whatever it was to get all their crap stations. He told me ESPN forced them to put it in the top tier. Makes no sense.

I will be happy to listen to Dan and Chuck if there is nothing on-line.

I have the same problem. I have dish network and full court and still don't get it. Last year I coughed up an extra 400 to get all the UC games. This year I got everything but ESPNU because it wasn't worth it. What ESPN is doing is putting every Big East team on ESPNU to force cable companys to get ESPNU if they want their customers to get all the games. I have full court but if the game is on ESPNU they don't put it on full court. Since I didn't get ESPNU this year more UC games are on ESPNU. Back to the old days of the radio. Being a UC fan is like being a second class citizen.

I called my local BW3 and they are putting the game on the screens. For the price of a pitcher of beer and some wings - ought to be a good night to watch the game. Hopefully the Cats put together a consistent game, they SHOULD win easily.

FYI I never heard BD say how rich he was. That is Doss. Regardless, I won't be muscled into buying a whole tier for 1 channel (and for what, 4-5 games?)
