First, read this article (http://news.cincypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070626/SPT01/706260316/1035/SPT) from the Cincinnati Post. Clearly, Rome was not built in a day and neither was Louisville's athletic department. But, the success Louisville has enjoyed recently is clearly a reflection of the hard work put in over the past 10 years. The one big thing UC must deal with that Louisville does not (or at least does so at a much smaller level) is competition. UC competes with the Bengals for football attention and UC competes with Xavier for basketball attention. In Louisville, the Cardinals are for all intents and purposes the only draw.
