I had my appointment today to pick my new football seats for the upcoming season. I must, once again, say how impressed I am with the new Athletic Department and UCats treatment of it's season ticket holders. I'm not a top giver by any means but today I upgraded my seats immensely, moving into the seat-back region that I never thought I'd see. It shows how loyalty is also valued by the university and not just the almighty donation dollar. My hats off to the whole new operation in Clifton.

Glad to hear that. I go Wednesday to pick my seats in the family section. I hope this kind of stuff gets everyone ready to jump on board

What is the best way to get tickets if you haven't had season tickets in a couple of years. I have a job where I work weekends in columbus, but am actively looking for something else. With this being said I would like to get the tickets I gave up a few years ago and didn't know if there was a good way to go about it.

Thanks.

The seatbacks are not all they are cracked up to be. I hope you are a "normal-sized American" and you were wearing a heavy winter coat when you testdrove your new seats. I am 175, not big by any means and those seatbacks are a tight fit. We had ample opportunity last season, at some of the more sparsely attended games, to cross the aisle and try the seatbacks, but we quickly retreated to the bleacher seats. I do hope they work out for you.

Interesting, I'm a little more than 175, and had no problems in the seats with backs. As a matter of fact, considering my back troubles there is no way I could sit in any seat for that length of time if it didn't have back support. And the seat-backs are a lot better than the portable ones we tried.

The problem with the chairback seats isn't with back comfort, but lack of knee comfort. The top of the seat in front wraps over the aluminum bench beneath it, cutting the space between the rows of seats. I've sat in the same section for several years, both before and after addition of the plastic. There used to be knee room. Not now.

Well I make up for my excess weight by being short - so the knee room is not a problem - but I remember the last time I was at UC football and basketball games and sat in seats without a chairback, and was like a pretzel for a week. I vowed not to return until I could be in seats with some sort of reasonable back support - which I've been able to do. The lack of knee/leg room would be a consequence, I'm guessing, of adding backs to seats not originally designed for them (the engineers could tell you) - but I guess it's a toss up over whether they want to put us physically challenged people in the stands or make room for you giants.;)

I had a problem with my season ticket order, and unlike in the past, when all you got was somebody's voicemail, a Sr. ***'t AD emailed me immediately, and also gave me his cell phone number if I needed to talk to him.

He then followed up to make sure things were ok.

Things have changed, and the dividends will be seen in the next couple years with much bigger crowds, and more success on the field.

I just ordered my Young Alumni tickets. They are only 72 dollars each. Of course these seats are general admission so I guess i'm going to be going into the student section again which I enjoy. I really want to get my old seats back(section 119 row 18 seats 11-14)...which i gave up in college because I got tickets for free. Once I can afford it i'll probably fork out the extra cash for them...hopefully they'll still be available...but then again...hopefully we'll be selling out every game.
