View Full Version : Just my $0.02
I don't see this board making it... between Scouts, Rivals, and NCAABBS this is just another iteration of the same board. I loved the email setup because I didn't have to be surfing the internet at work in order to be able to talk about the Bearcats, now it is just the same as the others...

I see your point, but I think that this board is very unique. This board is bearcat fans only so we don't have to get into all of the bs from people from other schools. This board will be better moderated - from what I understand - and it is all about the bearcats and issues that effect the university.
There is a good base of people who have been here together for a while and it will take a while to get used to the new format, but I think the emails would have eventualy pushed some valuable contributers away.
Also, you don't have to pay and I know that Scout and Rivals have their free boards but the free boards have the problems that I mentioned earlier.

You can certainly count on the admins to keep an eye on things on this new board. Plus, this new format gives us a much wider set of tools to keep things running smoothly.

I think the times have changed and there is no reason to do the cumbersome emails... it was like a fraternity(not greek) in that you had to make a certain abount of commitment(100's of emails) and that weeded others out... but I think it's all about how it's moderated and who they let in.
I have a feeling that some will get axed fairly easy, I would also imagine that Keith, Mike and Brett will always have a little more tolerance for those they know have been around a while......
at least I hope!

This is so much better than the e-mails.

Mick, I think there are many forum folks who rarely or never go elesewhere. Yes, it is obviously some level of competition, but I think both this and the ncaabbs board can work together for many, and for some they will probably stick wherever they are currently out as one place is enough.
I am very curious to see how this place evolves. Maybe we can get Zuke back now. ;)

I agree. I really liked the delivery of this board via email. I'm in email most of the day, so it made it easy to participate. Now, I'll have to actually go here. I'm not sure I'll use this, and I've been a loyal member of bearcatnews for 15+ years...
