Does anybody think we would not win the big10? The only games I would see trouble is at Wisconsin and At Mich St. But C'mon. THis confrence is a joke. SERIOUSLY! PSU wins at Illinois 38-33. No, both teams aren't great at defense.
THe sad part is this confrence will probably get five teams in the dance. We are way better than all the teams except Mich St- Who I think we would beat at home.
Illinois best OOC win? Missouri(who is overrated) and Vanderbilt.
Penn state beat NOBODY OOC.
Purdue best win OOC is vs. BC and a very overrated Davidson team.
Wisconsin best OOC win is @ VT.
All these teams are going to probably get in over us.

I agree that the Big Ten is very weak in b-ball anymore.

Is Butler an absolute LOCK? They have 2 OOC wins vs. UAB and XU. THey have now lost two in a row in confrence. IMO, they aren't a tourney team but are benefiting from playing in a WEAK confrence.

I was just watching Blowhio State let Northwestern go on a 16-3 run to take the lead in Evanston. I was thinking the same thing about the Big Ten - it is weak.

No offense, but at this point (as of this moment) I don't know that I care to much about the Big Ten.
I do care, however, about beating UL!

The best part is ESPN has the Big 10 ranked higher than the Big East.

Does anybody think we would not win the big10? .
Since the Big 10 has 3 teams rated in the top 20 teams in the Nation I think you will have to pick another conference UC could win.

Don't worry guys...I'm back after my recent suspension for calling someone a moron...Win the Big Ten? I'm not too sure about that one and I HATE THE BIG 10!
We would finish 3rd behind MSU and that other team in Ohio.

Ohio State lost to NWU last night.
Purdue is 2nd best in B10 not OSU.

Penn State failed to score 40 point last night. Funny thing is they beat the #18 Illini. Pethetic

No, UC would not win the big 10. UC started off way too slow to begin conference play. If they could have started the season like they have been playing maybe the could make a run at it. However, UConn, Pitt, Marquette, and maybe UL could win the Big 10. Do not underestimate the coaching at MSU though.

Or the coaching at Purdue. Matt Painter is a great young coach.
UC would not win the Big 10, but they would be competitive.

The Big 10 has a better conference RPI than the Big East. Much of this is due to the bottom of the Big East and Michigan, Ohio St, etc. winning huge games early on. Once you get into conference play your conference RPI doesn't change much.

In my opinion, UC still has not learned how to win. They are starting to win more games...but they have not yet returned to being a winning program.
Or another way of saying this... UC is still playing the role of the hunter and not the hunted.
It's a much different view with a target on your back. UC isn't there yet. They are not at the top.
To claim UC would win the Big Ten is a little silly. Based on head-to-head performance (Xavier & Memphis)...UC wouldn't win the A-10 or C-USA this year.
UC continues to make progress. As a fan - it is great to know that our team is still relevant in mid-February. Again...shows that progress is being made.
But let's not get too far out in front of our skis yet. Rebuilding is a process...

With 17 wins this season the Bearcats will have a winning season, therefore, they are a winning program.

Really! OSU is tied for 5th place with 2 other teams - if we're not better than them, not only would we not win the Big 10, we might well finish 8th

I wouldn't bet on us winning the Big 10, but I do think that we would finish in the top 5 OSU vs. UC would be a very good matchup as we have the same problems and would be fun to watch. I like our chances against Illinois, but don't think we beat MSU or Purdue (don't forget that Hummel was out for their little losing streak). I think we would be anywhere from 3-6 in the Big 10.

BK would disagree with your Ralph. One season does not make a program.

OSU has a ridiculous amount of talent(top recruits). Seems to me big Thad is doing a bad job of developing....

I think the basic assumption in this thread title is a little myopic. The Big Ten is not on the Big East's level from top to bottom, but MSU and Purdue aren't piles of crap. Either team could realistically finish 3rd or 4th in the Big East. UC, having not beaten an NCAA-worthy conference opponent yet, would be underdogs in about 4-6 road games in the Big Ten, as well as 1 to 3 home games. Toss in the occasional upset by teams like NW and PSU, and it's just a little unrealistic to say that UC would win the conference.

Agreed, no doubt in my mind we would NOT win this conference. Would we be higher up than we are in the Big East? Yes, most likely. But we would not win it.

You made my point EXACTLY. OOOOOOOO WAIT. My point is the teams we have beat like ND and GTOWN would be in hunt in the big10 and other confrences but in ours they look bad. THe Big 10 is pathetic. WHat has Purdue done? MSU has some good wins but they aren't as good as UL, UCONN, or Pitt by far.
Purdue would not finish 3rd or 4th! Thanks for the good laugh though!

It's hard to develop when all of your players leave after 1-2 years. That is also Matta's fault for only recruiting 5 stars that want to leave right away.

i don't see uc winning the small eleven, but of course that is an overrated conference. just like in football.
on a side note, saw coach cleary on bearcat sports weekly last night. he was talking about the big east-small eleven challenge this weekend, and how excited they are to be playing the suckeyes. it appears uc has been trying to get them to play for years, and the suckeyes wouldn't do it. big surprise there.....

Man.....that would be tough problem to have. I wish we could garner so much interest from 5 star recruits.

I wish OHIO would make the Buckeyes have to travel and play Ohio teams-mainly UC because we are the other BCS team. Other states do it and have movement to make home and home games held annually. When is the last time OSU played a road game in Ohio that wasn't nuetral? I think Gov. needs to get involved.

agreed. the statehouse bows to osu. shoemaker center has 13,176 seats because st johns arena used to seat 13,276. they couldn't allow uc to have a bigger arena.
