I dont know if it will be enough but I would be happy if we get 21.

If we end 21-12 I will be more than happy.

What about you guys? Would 21-12 make you happy or is it NCAA or bust? I hope a 21-12 (10-8) Big East team would get some serious consideration but who knows.

Yes, I think 21-12 aka win the next 3 games - gets us in. Again, we would have a good RPI, a bunch of solid but unspectacular wins, no bad losses and would have a winning record in our last 10-12 games. To me, that is strong enough to get one of the last at-large bids available.

To be honest, today's performance dampens any enthusiasm I had for seeing a glass-half-full scenario. The committee wants to see teams with the desire to make the tournament. Coming out of the locker room and playing like that shows poor coaching and poor desire.

Let's mourn this loss a little more before we try to get up for the rest of the season. Just MHO.

Im hoping thats sarcasm...we need to put it behind us now and look towards Tuesday. Not really. Just major disappointment - not from the loss, just from the lack of desire. This was our last chance for a marquee win this (regular) season.

I'll get over it and be ready for Tuesday's game.

Nothing to do with coaching. What was theie FG% in the fist half? Game was over at halftime. It was just one of those days. Gottlieb just talked about Uc and Prov. for 5 minutes on ESPN. "Don't overreact to one game" is what he had to say about UC...and he also said that Cincy is "far from out of it" and has us in over PC...look at the resumes. He also added that winning 2 early games over an opponent does not automatically put you in over them come tourney time. As long as UC takes care of business the next 2 games I still think they are sittin in a good spot.

No doubt a big disappointment. I just think the worst thing we can do right now is dwell on this game. We must move forward as a team.

21 wins would probably exceed my pre-season expectations, especially after Wright was lost for the season. I never would have expected an NCAA bid this season, again, especially after Wright's injury. While I would love for the 'Cats to earn an NCAA bid, I have given up hope as of now. Their last chance for a "key" regular-season win was today, and they failed badly. I think they probably need to win 3 games in the BEast tournament to earn the bid now.

My dream scenario is a second round Big East tournament date with Providence with an NCAA bid on the line...do or die elimination game for both teams. I think we have to win our next three to get to that point (South Florida, Seton Hall and Depaul)... then i think a win in round 2 and a good showing in round 3 will be enough. Everyone needs to take a chill pill. This was one game in a long season.

I doubt that a UC vs Providence game will be for a NCAA Tourney spot. Providence RPI is 71. It is extremely rare for an RPI over 60 to get an at large bid. Since 1994 only 1.3% of teams with an RPI over 60 have got an at large bid.

I agree that they have exceeded my pre-season expectations, assuming they can handle business against USF and SHall. That would put us at 20-11 and 10-8.

I disagree that we need 3 BET wins. That'd put us at 23-12. We would have easily done enough to get a bid if we win 3 games in the BET.

Finish 20-11 + 1 game in the BEast Tournament gives a solid resume (especially if we get a first round bye). However, if we win 2 BET games, we're a lock, IMO.

You may be right, but if they win only two games in the BET, those wins will have come against teams that likely are not in the NCAA tournament. One of those wins may be against a team that is not even in the NIT. I think they must reach at least the quarterfinals, and maybe the semifinals, to earn a bid.

Well, the 2 wins can come under different scenarios.

If we're the 9 seed, 2 wins is an absolute must!

If we're the 8 seed, 1 win might be enough. However, 2 wins as the 8 seed will stamp our birth in the Big Dance, IMO.

I actually thought about that as I typed my post. If the 'Cats are fortunate to avoid playing on the first day of the tournament, then 2 wins and they are in without a doubt. If they play that first day, they definitely need two and maybe three wins to get the bid.

Couldn't agree more. If they're a 9 seed, 2 wins will get them in the thick of things and they'll garner some serious NCAA talk. However, get that 8 seed, win 2 games (hopefully adding 2 top 50 RPI wins), and get your NCAA ticket!

Perhaps we need to hope Pov. , Cuse and UC win out and WVU splits. If WVU splits we win head to head tie break for 8th. They lose both we win 8th outright.

Pomeroy is now predicting we'll only win one more regular season game. He has us as favorites in both but figures we'll lose one of them. He's just not sure which one.

NCAA bound in 2010. NIT this year.

Pomeroy is a clown with a computer. Why do people care about this guy? Seton Hall scares me though.

Taking a step back and comparing the season to my preseason expectations we are better off then I thought we would be....so 20-21 wins is good for me from a season standpoint. My excitement has caused me to think that we have a chance to still get to the NCAA tournament so if we don't I won't be happy in the short term, but a week later will realize that we are better than I thought we would be.

25 wins through the BE Tourney should be the goal, a nice 7 game winning streak will put the Cats in the NCAA tourney.

The goal should be to win the next game...PERIOD. No more looking ahead and no more dwelling on the last game.
