With this season basically over. Anyone have any updates on us getting an extra point guard for next year. In my opinion it is a must for this team to be successful.

Cincinnati doesn't recruit point guards, you should know that by now.

According to Dan Hoard's columns, UC will have a PG arrive in the '09 class. He's just not saying who it is yet. So either they have a commitment, a near commitment, or Mick is targetting some high profile guys with some lesser profile PG's waiting in the wing for an offer. Who knows? But if you read Dan's columns, he sure seems confident about it.

The current crop of sophomores has been particularly disappointing. I am talking about Bishop, Davis, Wilks, Mitchell, and McClain. However, I think the freshman class this year was much better. Both Gates and Dixon played far better than any of the current sophs did last year, and if Cash truly is a taller Devon Downey, than the freshman class looks pretty good. The current sophs represent Mick's first real class, and even then he did not have a terribly long time to recruit and none of them were very highly regarded. It would not surprise me to see one or more of them leave after this year, and Belton may already be gone. Now that Mick at least has a team hopefully he will upgrade our expectations and only offer kids who can really compete in the BEAST. If Hoard is right about another PG then we can expect immediate improvement next year, but the other keys will be the improvement of Gates and a quick maturation process for Wright. Right now I hope there will be improvement next year, but I really have no idea what to expect.

apart from some real bonehead plays today, I think davis has made some real improvements this season. Mitchell has improved too, mostly by not jacking up quite so many threes, and every so often going to the basket. I think we will be much better next year, though we will have to replace mike's steadiness (second half of the season anyway). vaughn....I don't know what happened to him the second half of the season. Hopefully it was playing the "one". I'll say one thing, though he can clearly make the nba distance three, and beyond, his % goes WAY up the closer he gets to the COLLEGE line. the further out he goes, the flatter his shot gets, and he rims out a ton of them.
