Apparently Duke is involved with Bledsoe now. His list of interesed programs is a bad sign for UC, I would think. Anyone have any input?

Duke has been in for a while now, i dont think he will qualify academically for Duke. I still think we have about a 15% chance of landing him.

If Mick doesn't start landing top recruits we are never going to get out of this **** hole. He needs to step it up and i think he intends to. Recruiting is probably the reason Mick doesn't want to play in a post season tourny besides the NIT which will get us a some publicity.

Bledsoe has enough big time SEC schools that have offered that I doubt he'd choose UC. Unless he just wants out of the South for some reason.

Maybe he wants to play right away. Maybe it would be the quickest route to the NBA. Maybe he just likes Mick.

Bledsoe has about as much hope to qualify as Vincent Banks did...

I have often wondered why schools give a chance to a kid who has not made the grades and has been in and out of trouble their entire youth years. I am not talking about anyone in particular but just asking out loud. Then so many times these kids are give a great opportunity to get a free college education, play ball at a great school and they continue to piss it away. Is it just the mentality that since they are a great athlete that they can do anything that they want or is there more to it? Someone mentioned Banks. There was a great recruit at UC named Banks from South Carolina and he pissed his career away by firing a hand gun on campus. I think that the high schools should take a little bit of responsibility about making their players be productive citizens. What was that movie about a man who owned a store that was recruited to coach. He made the players first be good students and citizens before he let them on the team. He fought with the school administration and teachers to get weekly grade reports. Why is there not more of that? Is it because the coach and administration want to win so badly or is it the fans? Mick was hired to coach a team but he was instructed to graduate his players and to keep them out of trouble. He has successfully completed those two criteria. Now, we just need to get past the end of the year melt downs and he will be considered a success.

Banks from South Carolina fired a gun on campus too???? Did he room with Roy Bright fron North Carolina?
Vincent Banks from Georgia - didn't fire a gun
Devan Downey from South Carolina - didn't fire a gun (I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning his name)
Roy Bright from North Carolina - had th egun, it fired when he dropped it...
Am I missing someone?

I would think if he wants immediate playing time, he would choose UK. UC does have Cashmere next year. UK has NOTHING at PG.

Bledsoe is primarily looking at UK, UF, UAB right now, and is willing to "consider" others. If Duke ever offers (which they probably won't because he is extremely unlikely to qualify), he will be a Dukie.
I really hope people here are not pinning their hopes on getting him.

UAB? You have to be kidding me. I would think a kid would jump at UK or UF over UAB. But regardless, it does not seem like he will be a Bearcat.

There is 0 chance he is coming to Cincinnati. It is amazing how these things get started. There has never been a source of information linking this guy to Cincinnati except we had talked to him.

You mean nothing besides all of the recruiting sites that have Cincinnati in the running? Oh, that and his HS coach saying Cincinnati was one of the few that were still in the running for him.
I don't think he will be a Bearcat, but to say that it has always been 0 chance is incorrect.

It would be nice to get him if we can. However, it seems like it will be tough to pull it off.
So long as we get one of the three PG's we know we are looking at (or someone that maybe we don't know of) I will be a happy Bearcat fan.

if he's definitely bringing in another pg, i would be very suprised if it isn't a juco guy. he's got wright for 4 more years and there are several top pg prospects in the 2011/12 classes. two guys without a game of div 1 experience could be a challenging situation. i'm really wondering, given the uncertainty in his first class, see mcclain, belton and mitchell, how they will juggle all of the ncaa rules for penalizing scholly's when guys don't graduate due to transfers, etc.. this class is looking like a ball and chain.

exactly- Mike Davis is also a great recruiter in the south....had Demarcus Cousins committed- but he backed out because UAB would not put language in his LOI allowing him to leave if Davis left...also got commitments from McD All Americans out of the south while at IU like D.J. White and Josh Smith(althought he went pro).
