Does anybody know who we have out of conference next year? I heard something earlier this year about us playing in the Hawaii shoot out. Any truth to this, anybody else know who we play? If we do play in that tournament that will be baptism by fire for Cash.

Yes we took Louisville spot in the MAUI so that will hold as an early test to get some quality OOC victories.

I just went to the Maui Invitational website. Arizona, Wisconsin, Maryland, Gonzaga, Vandy, and Colorado. Some pretty good competition. Should be fun. Who else do we play?

No, I don't know who we play, what I don't understand is why anyone would invite UC to an early season tourney next season....

Were from the Big East, and I would think we project pretty well next preseason, especially if Mike Williams comes back.

I would def think people want cincy in their tourney's. Believe it or not people outside of cincy believe Mick is doing a good job rebuilding this program. Not to mention we may return everyone (excluding transfers) next year!

I just got back from Maui last week. We stayed at the Westin Hotel which is about a mile from the basketball arena. That hotel is awesome, of course it runs about $500 a night but still very much worth it. Long way to go given the state of our basketball program to plan a trip around it.

People outside of Cincy do think Mick is doing a great job, and I think that the reason many within the city do not is because it is our own little bubble.
The reality is, Mick is in my estimation at or ahead of schedule and is doing a fine job, and the trip to Maui next year will be a good test for the team.
Also, the reason we are going IS because (believe it or not people) we do project well next year within our conference as it stands, and should be a much improved team.

I'll remember that when UC is projected to finish 9th or 10th next year.

Just passing along information I have heard talking to sports writers and broadcasters while here in NY this week.
Most of them feel that with a true point in play next year, and everyone healthy, our guys can finish nearer the top of the conference next year than say the middle.

I find it interesting that everyone is assuming that we will have a better record next year. If we have stronger conference in the OOC schedule - which looks likely playing in the Maui Invitation vs. Global Sports Classic - and get a more difficult conference schedule - (Georgetown, Providence, and Seton Hall - combined record 24-30) which is highly likely, then I'm not sure we get more than 18 wins.
Throw in we will be playing with a rookie point guard and we still don't know what is wrong with the team chemistry and effort.
I heard an interesting point on the radio today. Could it be that the team gets a little bit bent out of shape after Mick routinely throws them under the bus?
