Funny where you run into former 'Cats. Was working on a story about robotic-assisted surgery, trying to nail down what local hospitals have a certain system and one hospital rep tells me "Let me give you the name and number of the company's local sales rep. It's Keith... um... Gregor."
I reacted with a chuckling "really?" and she asks if I've already spoken with him. I said, "Well, yeah, but not about the da Vinci system. I used to cover Keith when he played basketball for UC."
Called Keith and he helped out, was very cool. Even remembered me, kind of -- thought my name seemed familiar when I first said it, but couldn't remember from where.
Anyway, another story of a former 'Cat doing very well.
Keith is the local rep for Intuitive Surgical, which is THE company for robotic-assisted surgery systems out there now. They've got a whiz-bang system called the da Vinci (http://www.davincisurgery.com/index.aspx) which is the absolute gold standard out there, and looks like it will remain so for a long time to come.
