Any idea why he backed out?

I just made a post on the 2010 Recruiting thread that said we need post players. This kid would be a perfect fit to play the 3/4 position. Most likely, he would play the 3, but offers great size for that position at 6'7'', 200lbs. Hopefully MC can get back in on this kid. However, I've learned that players decommit for a "specific" reason. Hopefully UC is that specific reason.

His two class mates are committed there in 2011 as well. They are all from Greg Oden's Lawrence North in Indiana.

No idea why, but looking at his list of schools on Rivals, UC should be in good position to contend for him... He certainly would be a great pick up...

^ I noticed the article mentioned he "was considering Eggsavier" before he committed to UL.

I agree that we are in a "good" position to make a play on him. We need 3s, 4s, and 5s. The kid plays the 3/4. We're relatively close to home. We play in a major conference (not the A10). He will get immediate playing time and probably start as a Sophomore.

All things point towards us being a "player," but kids typically decommit with something in mind.

Also, there is a possibility that he had a falling out with the younger players on his team and didn't want to spend 7 years playing together?

Just looking at this kids' list of schools according to Rivals, he was considering Valpo, Miami (FL), Xavier, Dayton and UC. If you assume Miller leaving eliminates X, that's not very stiff competition if he's still considering that same group of schools.

Just Martin decommitted from the Ville and Pitino. We were listed as one that recruited him. We still might have a chance with him. He is listed as a 6'7 shooting guard. He might be more of a small foward. I hope he will take a look.

Yeah but I also notice after looking at his profile that Arizona was interested in him as well so don't count out Miller just yet. It would be nice to be able to land this kid along with keeping the commitment of Behannan.

Many of these kids decommit with a destination in mind. Aaron Craft recently decommitted from Tennessee and is expected to receive a scholarship offer to OSU on June 15th (was reported in Columbus Dispatch).
