A poster on the site mentioned Roger Bacon. I'd love to see Chane stay in Cincinnati and join the GCL. He would be able to compete against some of the top teams in the state and stay in Cincy (which is important because we must protect our prize recruit for the 2011 class).
If he goes to Bowling Green, does that mean he is more likely to "de-commit" from us?

Him and his Mom said his commit was solid so I believe 'em.
I'm not familiar with the HS ball in BG, Kentucky but is it that much better competition than GCL?

Chane is solid to UC. Don't sweat it. The move has nothing to do with Chane or basketball.

I'll second that. Nothing to see here. Move along. These aren't the droids you're looking for, etc.

Guys, one thing you need to understand. The college coach of who a player who verbals usually "advises" the player where he should be playing his senior year, and maybe his junior year.
Its highly unlikely Cronin has advised that Chane go to BG in Kentucky. Odds are very, very good that Chane does not end up at UC.

Except that it's well known that the reason he's transferring is becuase his mother is changing jobs. Nice try. Next.

Dude for being a junior member, you are not starting off an a good note. Before you get on a role, please at least try to back up your bashing with some facts.

Not true. The player will be wherever his family ends up for reasons that they cannot control or that better their family. Chane is going to be a junior in high school. I can tell you that there is not a college coach in America that is "advising" him where to finish high school. This situation is not a circus. Chane is a good player and a good young man. His family is moving, please stop trying to make a normal situation into something more. UC fans/parents/recruits/players read these boards. Being negative is one thing but to predict a situation of a current verbal commitment recruit is another. He is 16 years old. He is going where is family has to go.
odds are very, very good that you have no clue what you are talking about.

I have heard one of the reasons that Chane is leaving is because he is treated like crap at Aiken. He flat out does not like it there. His mom is moving for a new job and an upgrade on her and Chane's life. He is committed to UC. It is very very likely that anyone who says that he is not coming to UC has not clue what they are talking about and has no credibility about Chane's situation.

The important thing is that Chane was and IS committed to being a member of the UC Bearcats team.
Keep up ALL the hard work Chane, and good luck to your mother in her new job! :)

Behanan reminds me a lot of McElroy with his recent drop in recruiting rankings. We will see how this plays out.

Hate to disagree with you bcross, but in my opinion you are very very wrong.
Chane is a special player, with still untapped potential, and a motor that most would kill for. Not to mention his innate strength and ability.
I am very happy that Chane IS committed and shall remain committed to the Bearcats.
Also, for those who have missed it, their has been discussion in previous threads about Chane and his mother directly stating that they were not happy with some of the things being said in here about him "de-committing" and the like. I would suggest that we all just be VERY happy that he is (as of this moment) GOING to be a Bearcat, and leave it at that! :)

Chane will become a Bearcat after we have already turned the corner as far as the program is concerned. He will help us take it to the next level. I for one am glad that he has chosen our Bearcats.

Not to speak ill of Aiken (both my parents are alums), but hasn't it deteriorated into one of the worst high schools in Ohio? I don't know anything about Bowling Green High, but maybe this is a more secure environment for a guy like Chane to focus on reaching his potential.

FWIW Chance shut down Adrienne Payne at an AAU event. Much stronger. The more I see Payne, they less I am impressed.

Just the opposite has happened at Aiken.
It was on academic emergency ranking about 4 years ago, but it has improved dramatically under the new principal and is is now on equal footing with all CPS schools (except Walnut Hills).
In addition, there is going to be a new Aiken school built on the existing site in the next couple of years, so the school itself is heading up dramatically.
Whether or not Aiken is a good school or Chane gets treated good or bad it has nothing to do with the move to Bowling Green, KY. It is a family matter and a career move to better the quality of life for Chane, his mother and their family. Nothing basketball or academic related.

an article out of Bowling Green

Cited "family issues" as his reason for the move. Article states that he has received interest from major schools, but is verbally committed to UC.
All sounds well and I wish Chane the best. Can't wait 'til we get him on campus.
