Sounds like a typical football player. When I was at UC almost every player smoked weed in our dorms. They knew when they were gonna be tested. It's just stupid that it's illegal.

While I do not doubt that it goes on, it is hard for me to believe that on a team of maybe close to 100 with walkons that you knew that almost all of the 100 smoked weed.

I am pretty sure UC tests for drug use including marijuana use. A positive test will get that player suspended.

If you don't think that a large percentage of young people use marijuana, then you don't know young people. It only stands to reason that a large percentage of football players, band members, future engineers ... use marijuana during their college years. Now dealing of drugs is a completely different topic.

I consider myself young and I know a handful of people that smoke and that's just cigarettes.
Maybe it's because of who I surround myself with, but I still wouldn't say a lot of young people smoke. I would say the number drinking is a lot more.

I was an athlete at UC and most of my team members did not do drugs. We did not know when we would be drug tested it was totally random. Furthermore, I graduated from the engineering college and most of my classmates did not do drugs. I think that the generalizations that all kids or college students smoke pot is a bunch of smoke in itself. It is all about who you surround yourself with and the decisions that you make for yourself. For those who say everyone is doing it has maybe surrounded himself with those who do and has made the wrong decisions in life.

Nice try OhioFootball, but there's no way that you could have known that 'almost every player at UC smoked week'. I lived in the dorms with the football players during the 80's and early 90's and there were only a handful of football guys that regularly smoked weed. There were however, quite a few that drank too much. I smell a troll.

Some athletes do drugs and some don't; however, a 17 year old kid holding a felony amount of drugs is unacceptable regardless. Very few people get arrested smoking pot in their own home, but once they are stupid about it is when they get nailed. I have never smoked pot in my life, but will not ever criticize someone for doing it inside their own home even though it is illegal.

Who said it was a "wrong decision"?
You must swallow the weed propaganda whole.

no doubt, Helicopter! I live in a upscale neighborhood, and people smoke. Alcohol is far worse for you. How's that for derailing a thread into OT land!

i was an athlete at UC and it was always interesting to see when the fball and bball teams would be tested. It always said "TBA" when all of the other teams were already testing :D
