I see this link from this website BearcatNews

I have some unanswered questions. Can you find Ohio State somewhere on this top 75 merchandise sales list? I thought it should have been ranked somewhere in 10's or maybe better. How could it be?

I have been visiting Cincy a number of times since I moved to Georgia in 1990. I always noticed that many shops are selling more OSU stuffs than UC stuffs. Also, I could see more OSU stuffs than UC somewhere outside Cincy.

I am confused. Can someone help me understand this? I understand it is about the sales in last 1 year (July 1st, 2006 thru June 30th, 2007).

I wonder if Collegiate Licensing Company covers every university in the NCAA. Reason I ask is this. Ohio State would certainly be amongst the top 75 and they are not mentioned in this report. Southern Cal also is not included.

OSU isn't listed as one of the CLC's clients, so that probably has something to do with it.

This makes sense. It could have something to do with different merchandise licensing firms.

This report is just for universities who work with CLC. UC is probably closer to 60th, IMO. Not real great considering UC basketball used to be in the top 10 (I believe as high as no. 2) in the late 90's. The gear sold has been in a fairly steady decline since the late 90's, however.

Did you notice who's right ahead of us? Boise St. If we get to a BCS game, gear sales will explode, just like they did when the hoops team went to the Final 4. I wouldn't get too worked up over this. Football is probably driving more gear sales than ever (not just right now, but over the last couple years) and basketball will recover - just been a bad couple years.
