http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090630/SPT0102/306300073/1065/Xavier+lands+power+forward

Robinson was released from his LOI by Purdue because his grades were not acceptable. So, guess what? XU picks up a questionable student. I think that there would be a whole lot more discussion had this been UC.

http://www.boiledsports.com/2009/06/official-ruling-on-jeff-robinson.html Most articles will state that he is lazy in the classroom and on the bball court.

Talent over shadows grades. You can not pass on his 3.5 ppg

Thegreatone

Oh I forgot he did play with other good players. That should explain the 3.5 ppg

^^^^^^^^^^^ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahhahahahahhaha. That's awesome.

Yes, I thought it was Lance (or Parker).

X is a bunch of arrogant fakes. They pretend to be high and mighty, then commit immoral acts in the darkness of the night.

X has no room to talk regarding academics, off-court incidents, and player misconduct.

Go.

Countless incidents.

Lavender, Lyons, etc.

X fans think they recruit "Duke" and "Stanford" type players (upstanding citizens that have 4.0s and score perfect SATs).

I cannot wait for X to fade into the abyss.

a friend of mine is a xavier (oh) alum and he sent me a link to one of their boards talking about Lance. They have 16 pages of comments about a UC recruit!!!! 16 PAGES!!! They are so intimidated by their big brother accross town it's hilarious! Imagine a Xavier (oh) story getting 16 pages of comments over here! I think not...

Sorry guys about the title. Did not want to put fear into you. I also really did not intend on this thread getting a whole lot of replies. The intent was to once again highlight the hypocrisy of X. All of us here already know this though.

Since we were briefly on the subject, Lloyd Price has to take the cake for X. Robs a quicky mart down the street from his own home, drops his gun and then takes off his mask to look for it. Clerk recognizes him. Done deal.

....and Dedrick Finn, Lloyd Price, Mo Brantly, and DeWaun Rose...all fine upstanding characters....NOT!!! I'm forgetting some others. When I think of them, I will "out" them too. How many of our players would have graduated thru the years if they had their own personal nun doing their work for them? As I have stated on here before, I graduated from UC and moved on to Xavier for my MBA. It was like going from High School back to Kindergarten. Whenever I hear our university's academics being compared "unfavorably" to Xavier, I just laugh. I know better. I went to both places. Xavier was a joke. I would recommend it to anyone wanting an easy road to a degree!

Thanks for re-emphasizing my point.

The fact that X holds its nose high is a joke.

Some people just need to think this way to feel special. Many times it is easier to accept a fallacy than face the truth. No one likes the truth, because most of the time it stings.

XU. Pay your fee, get your B.

I was in Graduate school at UC. The XU grads in our graduate program were always lost. If someone wasn't telling them what to do, they wouldn't do anything. Very few panned out.

Seriously, who cares about Xavier? We play them once a year, in a game that really doesn't matter that much. I've never understood the animosity. I have a lot of friends who went there, and I root for them to do well except in the Shootout.

Do you know his first name by chance? I'm assuming (you know how that goes) that it is NOT Levertis, correct? Cause man, I loved that dude and would have a hard time rooting against his spawn (not that hard of a time, but he'd at least get my benefit of the doubt).

I would rather beat Louisville than Xavier, but understand those that live in Cincinnati having to deal with all of the people that work for them talking about the game if Xavier wins.

On this case.......I personally don't think this kid would be worth an offer, but when did we get on our high horse about the academics of an incoming player who meets NCAA guidelines?

I know why this is being discussed, but to me the issue is their high horse and not really this kid since I have no problem with him getting this opportunity.

I may be mistaken, but, I think Jeff Robinson also went to Chicago Martin Luther King with Levertis. He was like 6'9", I think. But, wasn't he recruited by Yates?

RCL46

I think Jeff Robinson went to Broad Ripple HS in Indy. Came in with Mike Williams, who transferred to Bradley. I don't remember if Jeff was ever eligible (Senior moments)

You're probably right. But, there was some other kid from King who came in with Levertis. He never made a big splash, though. Marcus Liberty was also on that King team.

Agree completely....I actually will usually semi-but-very-non-committaly-root for X as long as its a week or 2 on either side of the shootout. Got no prob with this kid at all, except that he's not related to Levertis, loser ;) (I kid, I kid)

I think we should write letters to ESPN, FSN etc to help clarify and get x recognized nationally as xavier (OH). I just feel bad that people keep thinking they are from New Orleans. :D
