What is your guys predictions for attendance for Thursday's season opener?

Do we really have to do this? We really have to stop focusing on attendance. Focus on the players and the game, and the A word will eventually take care of itself.

Sure we have to do this. It's fun! I'm flying in from New Jersey -- can't wait to see the game. Just got my UC - Rutgers tix yesterday, too. Go Cats!

Oh, yeah... 27,500. Shy of a sell-out, but the place will look rather full.

For fun, I would like to play this attendance prediction game. Normally UC football's attendance would have been 15K to 18K when they play against 2nd-Tier teams, but in this case, I am predicting it would be 21K+.

I am hoping for 20K+, but I am still a little scared over this game. School is still out so the seats they hold for students will most likely be empty. Many who are out of town are going to be coming down for next weeks game so they will miss this game.

However, this is something like armed forces appreciation game so hopefully the servicemen and women who are able to make it to the game will provide a nice boost - and a great atmosphere.

I forgot school wasn't in session... i have to agree that attendance will be lower than my optimistic 27,500. Bummer. Suddenly, 21,000 looks pretty good. I'm just glad to say that I'll be one of them! I'm being joined by a friend from AZ. Maybe the holiday weekend will help us get some other "out of towners" in.

And if I had to guess the attendance for tomorrow, it would be about 21,000.

With a high predicted of 89, coming off two days in the mid 90s, I think the heat wave will affect the crowd. In other years I'd predict about 15,000 under these conditions; it's harder this year, with the increased interest. I'd say about 19,000, and it could be less....

Last year's opener was on 9/2 and brought in a reported 18,000 fans. My fearless prediction for tonight's game is for attendance to be somewhere around 23,789.
