He will be playing for Uconn in the second half of the year. He will be eligable in their 2nd semester.
We will probably see him twice. He adds some quality depth to their front line.

Yeah I've heard really good things from him....isn't he a potential lottery pick?

I wonder if Mandelove will ever develop. They will have highly rated Oriakhi and Majok as well. .

They are going to be good again. Calhoun is the best at developing big men.

^ Yes he is.
Uconn is talented. They'll be fine and probably top 15 in the country.
Remember, they are returning the top high school point guard recruit in the country from a year ago (Walker), an athletic freak that played an injury shortened season (Robinson), and have talented guys in the post.
Uconn is my sleeper to win the BigEast..........if you can ever consider them a sleeper.

I wouldn't say he was the best PG in the country coming out of High School, but point taken.

I think we'll match up well with him with Thomas and even Wilks being athletic enough to guard a skilled 4 man.

I wasn't proclaiming him as such. I sould have been more clear.
I meant to say that he was the "highest rated" point guard coming out of high school.
He was the 5th overall guard, but was the top "point guard." The kids above him on this list did not play point guard in high school. All are shooting guards or combo guards. Kemba is a true point.

As is Brandon Jennings, but we are splitting hairs. Point is that he is damn good and has a lot of talent down low to play to. The wing play will be interesting and may determine just how good they are.

Jerome Dyson too. He can score and play D. They're going to be really tough again.

^ Forgot about Dyson. He is a baller.
I'm actually glad we play them twice. We should have the horses to compete and Uconn could provide for a HUGE win in terms of NCAA and seeding.

I bet Majok wouldn't be eligible for 2nd semester if he played for UC. The NCAA's playing of favorites is absurd and sickening.
College Basketball is on the road to becoming as much of a fiasco as AAU basketball has become.

Agreed. I think you're going to see a serious shoe-company related scandal rock the college bball world within the next 5 years.
If you think I'm crazy check into the Josh Selby decommitment from UT (an adidas school). His mother bumped into World Wide Wes, who is known for steering kids towards Nike and Calipari (Ever wonder how Memphis got so good so quick?), at the Lebron James camp and soon after he decommited. People are saying it is all shoe-related and he is going to go to a Nike school to ensure a big shoe contract for when he goes to the league. Truly is a shame.
The good news is that i believe Mick is tight with former Nike, Adidas, and Reebok rep and abcd camp founder Sonny Vaccaro. He is retired now, but i have to believe that he still has some pull in the recruiting world.

Worldwide Wes is rooted with agent Leon Rose moreso than Nike. He is a runner for Rose, and he steers them to Rose by getting them to previously go to Memphis, and now Kentucky, because Calipari is Rose's client. Memphis just became a Nike school last year- it previously was Adidas. Wes had been driving players to go to Memphis for years before it was a Nike school.

College Basketball is going down the drain fast because the NCAA is allowing all these criminals and shoe companies to run things.
World Wide Wes is the biggest cheat of them all and everyone knows it. They They break rules, they play "handler" for Calipari when it comes to exchanging money, forging ties and like you said with Selby promising shoe deals. They really run their enterprise like a Mafia organization is run.
The NCAA either needs to crack down now on these head coaches or College Basketball will turn into another fiasco like AAU has become.
It is sickening really. I've lost a lot of interest in college basketball over the last number of years and things will only get worse.

This is all true, however I've heard Worldwide Wes just recently has struck some kind of a "deal" with Nike as well. Just in the last year or so. Until they are shut down and cracked down on and a cheater like Calipari is held accountable college basketball will continue to spiral downward into another AAU type atmosphere.

So, the question is this:
How the **** do you expose something like this? And, who the **** is going to expose it?
It's one thing to write a column on ESPN, blog, or message on forums, it's entirely different if there is a vocal force behind the demands for this nonsense to end.

The NCAA knows full well what is going on but they are just as beauracratic and political as everyone else. All they see are $$$ signs and they will probably protect the schools that bring in the most money. It is going to probably take the FBI to get involved which will then force the hand of the NCAA to act. That is what it took when Alabama went on probation back in 2000 for paying all those Memphis area football recruits.

I'll call my FBI buddies and have them move that to the top of the priority list.

Seriously that is what it took for the NCAA to act on Alabama's football program back around 2000. The FBI got involved. The NCAA will protect their money makers and that includes a scumbag cheat like Calipari.
