I know I am looking too much into this. This is from Bill Koch over at cincinnati.com
And yes, like a lot of UC fans, he’s excited about the prospects for this season. But he’s also a coach who can’t help but wonder if trouble is lurking around the corner.
“We haven’t caught a whole lot of breaks here from Hernol (Hall) to Mike (Williams) to Cashmere (Wright),” Cronin said. “October has been a bad month, so we may not practice in October. I tell guys that people are excited and I don’t mean to temper excitement but in coaching you worry about everything. I’ll be happy when everybody’s cleared and healthy and in the layup line for the first game.”
I know, grill me now. But I am not 100% sure Lance will be playing. I feel very good that he will but I wish I heard that every will be cleared. I know this paragraph was directed towards injuries as well which we cant control.
I just know how deflating it would be if Lance wasnt aloud to play.

I think Mick is stating that, given the past couple years, October hasn't been too friendly. Hopefully everything will turn out OK.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. That is all that is.
I don't think this is foreshadowing anything....my opinion. Just stating the injuries and Hall situation, October has been horrible to Mick. I think it is just a comment, nothing to read into.

Stop sitting around at work dreaming about lance stephenson you clown. The fact that Lance has already started his weight training is a good sign.

Just act as if he has already been cleared. Worrying won't change anything and just annoys everyone else.

The moral is "do not count your chickens before they are hatched". I am not getting excited about Born Ready or considering him to be a Bearcat until he is cleared by the NCAA.

I'm with Ralph. It's looking promising but until he hits the court in the regular season it's a problem. If we throw him out there and he's later ruled ineligible, we forfeit any games he's played in and Mick and UC vacates those victories from the record. See: Memphis/USC.

I am not saying that Lance is 100% going to play or not. Nobody knows. But if you are not getting excited about Lance in a Bearcat uniform then you don't have pulse.
Ralph you can say that you are not excited but I don't buy it. You are getting on the internet at all hours just like the rest of us trying to find out if there is some new news on him. Just messing with ya man but come on I am real excited but nervous at the same time

Believe me, I love the prospect of having him out there. I really do. Could be/Will be the game changing moment of the program since Mick got here if not since Kenyon was here.
Let's be real though. Ralph who is the eternal optimist is worried. With our recent history of getting people cleared I'm withholding my joy until it's real and he's on the floor.

A bit off topic...
All schools face what we have faced over the last few years, players get hurt, players don't qualify, players leave. It is just that our roster numbers and talent level were such that any outage was significant.
Going into next season we are in so much better shape from the numbers and quality/experience standpoints.
Personally, I am feeling pretty good about the coming season. On the other hand, I realize it is the Big East and we may lose quite a few conference games.
We'll see how the other BE teams rosters settle out, and how the firm schedule with dates looks like, then we can begin to speculate on win/loss.
